Alan Titchmarsh has Caroline Quentin blushing as he discusses her 'skinny dipping' on ITV show

Alan Titchmarsh left his guest Caroline Quentin cringing as he quizzed her over her "skinny dipping hobby" on his ITV show Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh

Alan Titchmarsh left his guest, Caroline Quentin, red-faced as he probed her about her "skinny dipping hobby" on his show, Love Your Weekend. The Men Behaving Badly actress, 64, was taken aback by his question during their discussion about her successful acting career.

However, she soon burst into laughter and appeared uncomfortable as Alan delved into her fondness for swimming in the great outdoors in her birthday suit. He asked her directly: "I didn't know that one of your hobbies was skinny dipping."

Caroline let out a loud squeal, seeming embarrassed but amused, before confessing that she does enjoy the occasional swim with "no clothes on".

She said: "I really like to swim in open water, like ponds, or rivers or lakes but I have a big pond at home and I like to go in with no clothes on," Alan responded with surprise, asking: "Is it a sort of wildish pond?" To which Caroline replied: "Yeah, it is with dragonflies and frogs and newts, it's beautiful actually and it is one of the things that makes me happiest, more than anything else."

Unimpressed, the gardening guru told her: " Caroline, I think we need a word about personal hygiene here.", reports the Express.

"Ohh I always have a shower after," Caroline quipped, leaving the slightly embarrassed host to reply with a tentative: "Ohh right."

No longer indulging his curiosity, The Jonathan Creek actress firmly added: "There are no tadpoles where there shouldn't be tadpoles, Alan. It's fine."

The dialogue shifted towards Caroline's cameo in the wildly popular Netflix saga Bridgerton. Remembered by audiences, she briefly portrayed the rather insufferable Lady Berbrooke in its inaugural season.

Her screen time may have been limited, yet her character played a vital role; Lady Berbrooke graced the Bridgerton household for tea, hoping her son might secure an engagement to Baron Berbrooke (enacted by Jamie Beamish), who was on the hunt to trap Daphne in marriage.

In a scene set in Lady Bridgerton's home meant for the characters to get better acquainted, Lady Berbrooke indulged in an assortment of sweets and treats - only to endure a dreadful mishap mid-feast.

What viewers didn't know was the incident wasn't scripted, as Caroline nearly lost a tooth after unwittingly chomping down on a silver dragee. Alan couldn't help but comment laughingly on the incident: "There goes a tooth."

Caroline recounted: "Do you know, my friend Lisa who I was at school with does all of the food on Bridgerton and we were in a dormitory together when we were little, little girls and when I bit down it was one of those silver balls that are on cakes."

Alan, the TV personality, agreed with a nod, saying: "Yeah," He continued, recounting how she had apologised: "Well she came over and went 'I'm so sorry," and added: "But that was genuine it really was like I think 'I've taken a tooth out'."

The gardener then joked: "It sounded great," to which Caroline corrected: "No it wasn't, that is me biting down on one of those silver balls."

Alan retorted cheerfully: "You see your timing's bang on even when you're biting into a cake."
