WATCH: East Kilbride hikers swap the Trossachs for the spectacular Austrian Alps
Our Lady of Lourdes Hiking Club enjoyed a packed six days of climbs in the Austrian ski resort of Mayerhofen
Tyrolean delights were on the hiking menu for a Lanarkshire walking group as they swapped the Trossachs for Tyrol.
Members of Our Lady of Lourdes Hiking Club returned to East Kilbride on a high after a week of exploring greater heights than they could ever reach in Scotland.
Based in Strass Spa hotel in the pretty Austrian ski resort town of Mayerhofen in the Zillertall region, 34 hikers enjoyed a packed six days of climbs at altitudes close to 2976m (Ahornspitze), with other climbs above 2000m.
Club reporter and video producer Terry McGeary captured this spectacular drone footage at the summit of Grubelspitz.
Although used to climbing, the group were more than happy to have 1000m or so taken off their total ascents using various cable cars, a labour-saving convenience considered worth every euro cent.
Most members purchased a six-day Zillercard that covered cable car, local buses and even local trains and made for easy travel throughout the valley.
A couple of days off saw members making their own adventures, for example walking over the mountain border into Italy. Five bravehearts even tandem paraglided down from 2000m.
Our Lady of Lourdes Hiking Club welcomes all newcomers to join in on fortnightly Scottish outings. If you want to make your Saturday more fun phone Charles on 013552 22464 or leave a message at www.ololhikingclub.co.uk
