How Much Sex Will Be In Deadpool? Here's What Ryan Reynolds Says
As if we didn’t already know it, Deadpool is going to be a pretty hardcore superhero movie. And now, it looks like the mayhem may take an on additional dimension that's a little less violent, and a lot more sexy.
Ryan Reynolds has told Collider that he was actually concerned at times if the movie was going too far. In particular, the sexual content of the film is a focus for concern, as he stated:
We can't blame him, as he's Reynolds, finally shooting a film he worked for six years to get made, and wouldn't want to do anything to jeopardize that fact. When you really get down to it, he sounds a bit sheepish about the amount and quality of the sex in Deadpool. This is even in the face of knowing that they were going to embrace a hard R rating to begin with, which must mean the sex in this movie might actually stun some people. Now that would be interesting to see.
Deadpool has been taunting us for months with violent and hilarious teasers, trailers and photos. Very little of that included much by the way of naughty sexy times, which should probably tell all of us that such will be very naughty once they're revealed on the big screen. Also, obviously, no one is really going to a Deadpool movie for sex scenes, they’ll just be an added bonus when we’re all sitting in the theater, munching on our popcorn. Considering how "normal" most super-hero movies are, this just amps up our excitement at the barriers Deadpool will break.
So, what could the more steamy moments in Deadpool look like? Well, the general nature of the character lends itself to some wildness of all different types. We’ve heard that Deadpool has a girlfriend, so there will be some lovin’ with her. But, will it be naughty? I’m thinking it’ll be wild, but not so crazy that we can’t see how much they really care about each other underneath all the faux nudity. Or, real nudity. I guess we’ll see. The point is, the film has an arc that sees Deadpool / Wade Wilson trying to get back with the woman he loves, so there might be a little bit of candlelit silhouettes in our future.
Other than that relationship, I have a feeling a lot of the other characters will be getting it on in the most ridiculous ways possible. I’m sensing that there will be a lot of sex mixed with violence in here, and we should probably expect much of these R-rated sexual shenanigans to cover a wide degree of the humor spectrum. Why would there would a lot in the way of Nicholas Sparks style sincere love making in Deadpool, anyway? That’s totally out of place for the kind of manic machinations we’ll see in this movie, love story or not. Sorry folks, the only notebook you'll see is the one that Wade uses to keep his awesome drawings in.
No matter what Deadpool has in store for us, it’s sure to be interesting in ways that no other superhero movie has ever come close to being. And since our other superhero movies are determined to stick with teen-appropriate PG-13 ratings, this sounds like our only real chance to watch a costumed hero get his groove on.
