Ubisoft has launched the open beta test for Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege following a last-minute delay.
They began the open testing this afternoon across PS4, Xbox One or PC. You can download it through your console's online store or via Uplay if you're on PC.
Ubisoft initially planned to start the beta on Wednesday. However, they delayed the test due to technical issues preventing game sessions from starting. Siege is set to launch in just a few days so a big bug like this obviously caused a lot of anxiety among fans.
However, the company says that they discovered the root cause of these problems and have resolved it. They also pointed out that finding last-minute issues was the exact purpose of the beta in the first place. The delay in the beta won't result in a delay to the full version of the game.
The open beta lets players jump into online battles as one of 14 characters from five different special forces units. The available characters include the Russian Spetsnaz operators that made their debut in the open beta. Glaz is a marksman that can change the magnification on their scope to pick off enemies from afar. Tachanka can deploy a mounted machine gun that he or his teammates can use to defend a key area. Kapkan can boobytrap doors or windows with explosive devices.
During the test, players will have access to three maps: Kanal, Hereford and House. They can compete in two different modes. In Secure Area, the attackers must secure a biohazard container and hold it for 10 seconds. Bomb mode places two explosives in the map and challenges the attacking team to defuse one. Testers can also team up to face A.I. opponents in Disarm Bomb mode, which tasks them with disabling multiple explosives before time expires.
Rainbow Six Siege's open beta will run on November 29th.
