New York’s Freedom of Information Law (FOIL), codified in the Public Officers Law Section 84-90, grants members of the public a right of access to government records, subject to certain exceptions listed in Section 87(2) of the Public Officers Law. For more information about the Freedom of Information Law, you may wish to visit New York State’s Committee on Open Government.
If you would like to make a FOIL request for Cayuga County records, please email the Clerk of the Cayuga County Legislature, Sheila Smith, Cayuga County’s designated Records Access Officer.
