The Cayuga County Office Building was forced to close Wednesday May 29, 2024 due to structural and environmental concerns and we haven't been able to enter the building to retrieve items from our office since May 31. This forced the temporary closure of the Cayuga County Clerk’s offices including the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) located in Auburn. At this time, the County Clerk’s Recording office is operating remotely and questions can be e-mailed to [email protected] . Please call 315-253-1271 or email us to set up an appointment. Documents that need to be recorded or filed may be dropped off at the County Historian's office at 10 Court St. in Auburn. We presently cannot process passports however we are working to bring this service back. We continue to get our daily mail; therefore, work or requests can be mailed to:

Currently it is up to 6 weeks.
