Wendy's previously has released a Peppermint Frosty. Is a Girl Scout Thin Mint flavor coming?

Two popular treats are set to collide this year — according to the internet.

Rumors have been swirling online about the possibility of a Girl Scouts collaboration with Wendy's for a Thin Mint-flavored Frosty.

"The frosty is rumored to be available sometime in February and will use a vanilla base with a thin mint swirl," according to an Instagram post from Snackbetch, a popular page for food news.

News of the potential new Frosty flavor seems to have serendipitous timing, as Girl Scout cookie season kicked off Jan. 7.

Are the rumors of the Thin Mint Frosty true?

A representative speaking on behalf of the Dublin, Ohio-based Wendy's stated they were unable to confirm any details. However, The Canton Repository spoke with an employee at one of the local fast-food restaurants, who said that the flavor is in the works. They were unable to say when the flavor might be released.

What's the history of Wendy's Frosty?

The Frosty dates to the 1960s — and took its inspiration from a horse race track in the Cleveland area, according to Wendy's website.

The Frosty hasn't just been confined to chocolate. The beloved dessert has also included Pineapple Under Sea (thanks SpongeBob!), Peppermint, Salted Caramel, Pumpkin Spice, Orange Dreamsicle and Triple Berry.

And yes, people really do dip their french fries into their Frosty.
