What the hell is Eric Bischoff doing in NXT?

He showed up via video this week, and will be in person next week.

Geno Mrosko is a lifelong pro wrestling fan who has been covering it since becoming a Manager at Cageside Seats in 2011.

NXT Champion Trick Williams showed up on this week’s episode to speak on being sad about the end of Chase U, and how he promises to get a measure of payback against the man responsible, Ridge Holland. The two will be squaring up for his championship at the upcoming Deadline premium live event scheduled for Sat., Dec. 7, 2024, at the Minneapolis Armory in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

That wasn’t the big story of the evening, though. No, that would be none other than former WCW boss and longtime pro wrestling executive/talent/personality/podcast host Eric Bischoff showing up via video.

The “Controversy Creates Cash” author popped in to say Williams wants to keep his NXT title while Holland wants to take it for himself but he’s curious about just how much each man wants these things. What’s more, he wants to find out exactly what makes them tick, so he’ll be showing up to next week’s episode to find out for himself.

The Performance Center faithful rewarded that with a huge pop, and commentary put it over as a really big deal. It seems out of left field to yours truly but, hey, sure, why not?
