In our celeb-obsessed culture, we'll be the first to admit that we've done our fair share of stanning. And one A-lister that we can't get enough of is Emmy award-winning actress and forever It-girl Jennifer Aniston. From her sartorial know-how to her glowing skin and iconic hair, there's no doubt that the LolaVie entrepreneur has beauty and wellness secrets just waiting to be discovered. Of course, the only way to find out is to talk to Ms. Aniston herself—and that's just what we did. Ahead, the Friends alum lets us in on everything from what she eats in a day to how she maintains her physique and mental health. Keep reading for Jennifer Aniston's diet and exercise regimen along with tips and insight from dietitian Amy Shapiro.

Meet the Experts

Amy Shapiro, MS, RD, CDN, is a dietitian and the founder of Real Nutrition.

Breakfast

Aniston starts her day with plenty of protein, sharing that her go-to breakfast is avocado and eggs, plus a shake, to which she'll add maca powder and cinnamon. Shapiro approves of the meal, which delivers on protein, fiber, carbs, and healthy fat. She suggests aiming for 21 to 30 grams of protein at breakfast. "I recommend one to two whole eggs with an additional two to three egg whites added for a protein boost," says Shapiro.

Another one of Aniston's go-to breakfasts? A smoothie, which always includes some sort of pure protein, bananas, berries, and a mix of greens.

You can also add supplements to your breakfast, although this is totally personal, says Shapiro. If you're not sure where to start, she suggests trying a probiotic, B complex, vitamin D3.

Lunch and Dinner

"I’m much more mindful about what I eat and conscious of my ingredients," Aniston tells us. "I try to practice balance by eating a proper amount of protein, vegetables, and water and exercising."

The Murder Mystery actress keeps it simple for both lunch and dinner, opting for "some form of vegetables or salad with protein—pretty basic." Her dinner is "probably the same," though she's been known to mix it up with a chicken burger wrapped in lettuce.

Although it depends on the individual, Shapiro generally recommends four to seven ounces of lean protein, at least two cups of veggies, and half a cup of whole grains or one slice of whole wheat or whole grain bread for lunch and dinner. Her meal suggestions? Salad with grilled salmon, steak and vegetable fajitas with almond flour tortillas, chicken vegetable soup, or a turkey burger with avocado, lettuce, and tomato—hold the bun.

To figure out how much water you should be drinking daily, aim for half of your body weight in ounces as a baseline with increased amounts dependent on exercise, temperature, and personal needs, says Shapiro.

Snacks

When craving a bite to eat, The Morning Show co-star reaches for an apple with almond butter or just an apple and some nuts. These are solid snacks thanks to their mix of fiber, carbs, protein, and healthy fat, comments Shapiro. Aniston also likes raw vegetables and hard-boiled eggs, which she keeps in her fridge as staples in case the munchies strike. Similar snacking options include fruit and nuts or cheese, trail mix, dried edamame snacks, clean energy bars like RX Bars, BTR Nation or Elemental Superfood Bars, and jerky, adds Shapiro.

Indulgences

While Mexican food used to be her vice, the California native now can't resist a good plate of pasta, favoring a classic carbonara. Another Italian classic Aniston can't get enough of is pizza (celebrities, they're just like us!). The actress loves having friends over for a DIY pizza night—with the requisite wine pairing, of course.

"It is perfectly okay—and encouraged—to enjoy a plate of pasta and/or pizza when you are craving it," says Shapiro. "I would just recommend trying not to think of it too much as a 'treat' or 'cheat/indulgence' as this can sometimes cause someone to overeat." Just make sure it's worth it—and in that case, enjoy it without guilt, she adds. "80/20 is a good guideline but most of my clients are more 90/10." In other words, try to eat healthy 80 percent of the time but give yourself 20 percent wiggle room.

When eating unhealthy food, try to add some vegetables to round out your meal more and give it an overall greater nutrient profile, advises Shapiro.

Supplements

Ever since becoming Chief Creative Officer for Vital Proteins (she has been using the brand's Collagen Powder since 2014 and puts it in her smoothies), Aniston has helped revamp its protein bars, creating Vital Proteins & Jennifer Aniston Protein and Collagen Bars, with Cold Brew being her favorite.

According to Shapiro, there's no harm in adding collagen powder to your smoothies if you feel like it is making an impact on your hair, skin, nails, etc. "But also look to other collagen-rich foods to add to your diet like bone broth," she tells us.

Physical Health

Aniston's love of exercise and fitness makes her a no-brainer for any brand partnership with a similar philosophy. Enter: Pvolve, a fitness company with a focus on low-impact, yet effective. After discovering the brand in 2021 while recovering from a back injury, the health and wellness guru has become its spokesperson and advises on product development and programming strategy too.

According to Aniston, one of the many great things about Pvolve is its workout offering. "You can kind of curate your workouts for how much time you have, or what your body's doing, or what equipment you have," she tells us.

Mental Health

To keep her life centered, Aniston is a huge fan of meditation. "I wake up; I meditate, I walk the dogs," she says, adding that after this she'll wash her face (with Aveeno's Positively Radiant Brightening Facial Cleanser, of course) and start her day. "If I were to skip my daily practice or miss a few days, I would notice a difference."
