"Make sure you use a large claw clip that holds all of your hair," Rubenstein says. She suggests smoothing a pomade over the hairline and top layer of hair, "so the look is chic, polished, and not messy."

To achieve this look, gather your curls into a loose bun, secured by a claw clip. Allow pieces of hair to fall from the clip and frame your face for an effortless and chic look.

Opt for a patterned clip to upgrade your messy bun. "Create a ponytail wherever you want your bun to be anchored, twist the hair, mist hairspray over your twist, wrap it into a bun, and use a couple smaller claw clips to secure bun to head," Rubenstein explains.

A claw clip is a chic, easy way to do a half-back style, so it only makes sense to add it into your rotation. "This look is feminine, easy, and romantic," Rubenstein says.

Riley's method is simple: Just drag your open clip from one side of your head and close it on the other side to create a half-up look.
