Valentine’s Day Climbers Sing Love Duets atop Sydney Harbour Bridge
At Dawn Today, 14 February 2018, six couples climbed to the summit of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and, with red roses in hand, sang love song duets with their Valentines on a stage like no other, 134 metres above the sparkling harbour.
After Climbers celebrated reaching the summit, they took a deep breath, lifted their microphones, looked into their partners’ eyes and burst into laughter belting out classic love duets including: I’ve Had The Time Of My Life, Perfect, You’re The One That I Want, Summer Nights, and Don’t Go Breaking My Heart.
The romantic journey started when the 12 Climbers began ascending the famous arches, with the city still and in darkness, their Climb Leader sharing contemporary and historical stories and secrets of the Bridge and Sydney along the way.
When they reached the top, hearts were set a-flutter with breathtaking 360 views of the harbour and its surrounds as the sun rose from behind the eastern coast line and reflected off the sail of the Sydney Opera House.
The setting was completed as each couple was presented with a deep red rose, adding a burst of colour to the usual steel-grey scene.
Climb Leader Tash, who guided the Valentines to the summit, said: “The Sydney Harbour Bridge brings people together in many ways for many special occasion and we love to celebrate love with our Climbers
“BridgeClimb enjoys playing ‘cupid’ throughout the year. We have seen more than 5,000 proposals and witnessed 29 weddings at the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge”.
