Ben Johnson, come on down.
The Jacksonville Jaguars suck in every way imaginable and lost a real-life NFL football game 52-6 to the Detroit Lions. The loss represents the largest margin of defeat in team history and keeps the team at the bottom of the league standings.
This game, unsurprisingly, was an uncompetitive as any the team has played all year and probably worse than the 47-10 ass-kicking the team got from the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football.
Sunday’s final was a Scorigami and an excellent audition for Johnson as the future head coach in Duval County. Outside of that, nothing went well for the visiting Jaguars.
WINNERS
Special Teams
For a handful of weeks now, punter Logan Cooke has been this team’s best player. He surely plays a lot and made some excellent kicks on Sunday. Cooke punted for more yards (267) than the Jags gained on offense (170). That isn’t saying much at all given the abhorrent state of the offense but it does show you what good a punter can do. Props to Cooke for consistently going out and delivering.
The best player is Logan Cooke. Another good punt.

Cam Little also made the most of his minutes, kicking a career-long 59-yarder and connecting on a 35-yarder. Little too has made the best of every opportunity he has been given and is now 13-14 on the year. The Jags may not be able to draft whatsoever, but at least they hit on a punter and kicker.
Cam Little’s 59-yard FG ties the #Jaguars Franchise Record. (Josh Scobee, Josh Lambo)

Ben Johnson
What an awesome performance by the future head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Johnson absolutely dogwalked his future team, putting up 645 yards on the league’s worst defense. Johnson saw quarterback Jared Goff toss four touchdowns to just five total incompletions. Imagine what he will be able to do with another former No. 1 overall pick. Johnson and Mark Brunell are going to do wonders in Jacksonville. It is just a matter of time before it is official. Johnson was playing with his food in this game just for fun.

LOSERS
Everything else that has to do with the Jacksonville Jaguars
If you watched Sunday’s game from start to finish you should actually be entitled to some form of compensation. While not surprising, it was still awfully sad to watch the Jags go down in flames yet again. The defense didn’t even register a sack, generate a takeaway or look like it had any plan on how to stop Johnson, Goff and the rest of the Lions’ offense.
Mac Jones looked completely overmatched under center again and has scored just 16 points in two weeks as the team’s QB. For reference, Taysom Hill scored three touchdowns on Sunday alone.
There is nothing more to say that hasn’t already been said about this dumpster fire. This is as low as it gets. Allen Robinson (yes, that one who is now somehow on the Lions) finished with seven yards receiving. He would have been the Jags’ fourth leading receiver and just three yards shy of being the third. That is flat-out pathetic.
Mac Jones
There is really no need to dogpile on Jones as everyone knew this was liable to happen. This team is bad and even Trevor Lawrence has had only mild success in it. But just look at these stats:
The #Jaguars offense in the last 8 quarters without Trevor Lawrence:
— John Shipley (@_John_Shipley) November 17, 2024
20 first downs
313 total yards
3.4 yards per play
216 passing yards
13 points
The Lions at halftime today:
19 first downs
306 total yards
9.0 yards per play
205 passing yards
28 points
The Jags failed with their project to clean up Jones for another team or even just have a competent backup. This experiment has blown up as badly as it could have and there is one guy that is at the center of it…
Trent Baalke
This fanbase wore clown noses to poke fun at how bad Trent Baalke is at being an NFL general manager. It will be the fans who will have the last laugh as by the end of this football season Baalke should be out of a job once more.
In his 10 years in the NFL, Baalke has had just six winning seasons and four of those came with Jim Harbaugh. He has just one playoff appearance in his last six years and that playoff run in 2022 was more of a miracle than anything. This guy does not have the stuff to cut in the league and should not be allowed to ruin this team any further.
Jaguars GM Trent Baalke is 30-64 (0.319) over his last 6 seasons overseeing operations.

Injuries
The injury bug bit the Jags again this weekend, with receiver Gabe Davis having to be carted off due to a knee injury and corner Buster Brown going down in a heap. Center Mitch Morse suffered an eye injury and rookie phenom receiver Brian Thomas Jr. got banged up. By the end of the year, someone reading this may be suiting up for the Jags to play on offense. It's honestly shocking more defensive players haven’t gotten hurt with how often they are on the field.
