Thursday Night Football kicks off tonight at 8:15 p.m. EST as the Philadelphia Eagles host the Washington Commanders at Lincoln Financial Field.
The Birds are 3.5-point favorites, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, and the total is 48.5 points.
I like Philly to win and cover tonight. I thought about taking the Commanders because they’re a legit playoff team and the Eagles have faced a soft schedule recently, but regardless of opponent strength, I am all-in on Vic Fangio’s defense. The secondary communicates very well and rookie corners Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean look like stars.
Fangio is one of the most trustable D-coordinators against running quarterbacks, and first-year phenom Jayden Daniels hasn’t looked the same since injuring his ribs a few weeks ago. This will be a big test for him and O-coordinator Kliff Kingsbury, whose offenses tend to struggle in the second half of seasons.
Chance for Kliff Kingsbury to burst the "his offenses always flounder down the stretch" narrative.

Winning % in NFL dropped from .602 (26-17-1) from Weeks 1-9 to .281 (9-23) from Week 10 to the end of a season. Went 7-14 in Game 10 and later as Texas Tech’s coach https://t.co/990hHnGMsM
The Eagles seem like a safe bet to score 20-plus points so long as they have A.J. Brown and Saquon Barkley available. I just don’t feel as confident about the other offense.
