The six-week-old polecat-ferrets were stolen from a garden hutch

Three baby polecat-ferret hybrids are still missing 10 days after being stolen from a garden.

Durham Constabulary say the six-week-old pets disappeared from a hutch in the garden of a house in Moor Edge in Brandon.

The young animals were taken from the property at about 06:00 BST on 13 September.

Their owner, who wishes to remain anonymous, said they "cannot believe that someone would be so heartless as to steal them".

"They're only babies," said the victim.

"I am so worried that they are not being taken care of properly. I just want them back home safe with me so I can look after them."

Police are looking to speak to anyone with information about the theft or who knows anyone who has recently acquired baby ferrets.
