Electric fencing conundrum

Hi all!
We just moved to a new farm and it is not going smoothly! We have about 3 acres right now split. I have sheep and a dog I am containing. I have a Parmak 6 solar charger connected to each, so 2. At previous farm did 3 strand poly wire and had.no problem with containment. Moved here and have setup the same (actually have new chargers, was prev on some low cost electric charger), and animals are.getting out left and right. I have a ground near each charger. All 3 strands hot. 1 low as low as they go and top strand above shoulders or so. Dog and lamb have gone under. Checked.wires all hot. I don't understand. Had electrician we know look and says it should be hitting hard. I was thinking of doing a galvanized wire on bottom row as may be better conductor. Wasn't sure if I can leave 2 tops strands poly wire or would that be a problem. Ground is also copper post several feet down. How else can I make this more powerful? Any other ideas? We are on a busy road and have 5 strand barbed wire behind it so no help. Also would turbo wire or a different wire be better? Is poly wire my problem? I was about to go change out bottom wire but wanted to ask someone first. Lastly I am using some tpost but mainly step ins so should and could that hold more wires? Alternating? I don't even know how to alternate ground and hot but also know them going under is the #1 problem .Animals are contained in back but have been having to get them out of road daily so urgent

Be sure the ground is good...dirt around it moist.

You say new parmak solar chargers. Before a plug in charger. My thought is that the joules on the solar are WAY below the plug in unit. So, while wires show active, they are NOT strong enough.

Plug the old unit up and see if it changes things.

I'd almost bet that's your main problem...not hot enough. Most testers show hot or not BUT not HOW HOT.

They were getting out with older charger even here. I just put solar charger on one pasture to replace it but had same problems with both chargers here

This one says 1.2.i think output

I have goats -- hard to contain animals. My plug in Parmak is 6.3 joules. They don't go thru it.

I guess I'm thinking type of strands used could be big issue...does anyone else experience that with sheep and their wool?

I have Parmak 6....on line if I'm looking at right thing it's 1.4j and again this is for a little over an acre

There's a chart on Rachel's haven journal showing strength suggested for various animals.

You're at a new location. They will challenge the new environment.

What type of wire do you use? And checked our previous charger was only 0.5j

I just bought a Parmak 12 solar charger, haven’t put it up yet. It has 3.1 joules. I’m only going to use it to divide securely fenced fields. I know a lot of people do it, but I don’t think I could sleep for fear of sheep and dogs going through just a hot wire fence.

My fields are fenced with sheep and goat woven wire, with 4” holes.

You have wool sheep, they don’t feel the charge through their wool.
