Good place for free ranging?

Those Jersey girls (when they grow up) should be able to handle themselves quite well out there. It couldn't hurt to spot check now and again for dens or holes snakes might take up. My recommendation is to set up trail cameras so you can see what you actually have at night.

Otherwise sounds like you're a step ahead of most folks wishing to free range (even me considering you've got two dogs.) I wish you luck with your flock!

Hopefully you can train the dogs to protect the birds rather than try to eat them
I hope so
Can we get a picture of this mastiff's face
Here are a couple

His name is Dukey. And yes he is very dumb . Surprisingly great with the birds though!View attachment 3899566
Firstly my hens free range in a wood and love it. They’ve made it pretty treacherous for humans due to holes in the ground which are hidden by oak leaves. They spend every hot summer day in there clearing the land of antelope. They must do as we have no antelope in there
Secondly love Dukey and here is a picture of my slim 45kg golden retriever. He is tres beau mais la tete est vide (very handsome but the head is empty) . As you can see he loves his balls.

Usually when ground predators show up chickens will fly into trees. Your backyard looks close to ideal. I would just make sure the Brahma have low enough branches to fly into

The more trees and vegetation you have, the safer your chickens will be

This sounds so much like Dukey! He is always wandering around with something in his mouth. He doesn’t chew on it, like playing tug of war, or anything else that isn’t holding it. I have found him proudly walking around with alive toads on multiple occasions (not a single one was injured somehow) and randomly a potato. Sounds like they would get along pretty well

Can you imagine the chaos they could cause if they got together

HIS FAT HEAD is precious! I love him!

Too bad you haven't included your location. We could help you with a survey of the predators your chickens would likely encounter.

With such lovely cover, regardless of fencing, there is pretty decent risk that foxes, skunks, possums, coyotes, feral dogs and cats, assuming you are in the US, and aerial predators would pick off small chicks. Adult chickens have a better chance of evading predators than chicks. I would recommend only letting the chicks out for short periods under your supervision.
