I just got my ducks this summer so I haven't had them yet over a winter. They have currently just been staying in my chicken run at night and have covered shelter under my chicken coop inside the run. I know they will need more cover over winter but I'm curious how much cover will be enough. I will be covering a portion of my run with a tarp for winter to block out cold wind and snow. Would that be enough coverage for my ducks or will they need more? We are in southern middle tennessee so it doesn't get too too cold and we rarely get much snow.

You will need to build walls under your chicken coop with bales of straw or pine straw. The ducks need protection from wind and water. If they are protected from the wind and rain (snow and snow melt), with loose straw/pine straw to snuggle down into, they should be fine
