Terry J. Ducote, Belledeau

Terry J. Ducote, a cherished brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully in Pointe Coupee Parish on Wednesday, December 11th, 2024. Born on August 20th, 1945 in Belledeau, Louisiana to George and Alma DeSoto Ducote, Terry lived a life marked by devotion to his Catholic faith, family, service to his country and excellence in his profession.

Raised in Belledeau, Terry graduated from Hessmer High School and continued his education at the University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette. After earning his degree, he served honorably in the United States Navy in San Diego, California. Upon returning to Louisiana, he became Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and went on to lead and owning Charles F. Buckley & Associates in Alexandria, Louisiana, where his leadership and dedication earned him the respect of his colleagues and clients alike. Terry's career took him to Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, and Baton Rouge. Once diabetes took his mobility, he ended his lengthy career and eventually retired in New Roads.

While Terry never married nor had children of his own, his family meant the world to him. He was a devoted son, a loving brother, and a supportive uncle who left an indelible mark On the lives of his loved ones.

He is survived by his two sisters, Sandra Level and Rosemary Slayter; nieces, Patrice Robinson, Carmen Slayter, Cheree Scardina and Lydia Thom; nephews, Steve Ducote, Philip Slayter, Jeffery Ducote and Greg Ducote; great nieces and nephews, Tom Robinson Jr, Tim Robinson, Dr. Aimee Watts, Aaron Ducote, Derek Ducote, Jordan Scardina, Courtney Smith, Chloe Smith, Angela Ducote and Logan Thom. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Alma DeSoto Ducote; brothers, Harris Ducote and Ervin Ducote; and nephew, John Ducote.

Visitation will be held at the Escude Funeral Home of Mansura on Friday, December 13th, 2024 from 9:00am to 11:30am. Funeral Mass will be at the St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church of Belledeau beginning at 12:00pm on Friday, December 13th, 2024. Burial and military honors will follow in the church cemetery.
