Lucy Dauzat, 92, Pineville

Mass of Christian burial will be held for Mrs. Lucy Guillot Dauzat on Tuesday, September 3rd, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Winifred Catholic Church with Father Albi Mulloth and Deacon Ken Primeaux officiating. Interment will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Pineville, Louisiana. Services are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home, Marksville, Louisiana.

Mrs. Dauzat, age 92, of Pineville, Louisiana went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 30th, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family She is preceded in death by her parents, Rosney Mitchell and Nora Carmouche Guillot; her husband, Huey John Dauzat; and three brothers, Robert Guillot, Wayne Guillot and Warren Guillot.

Lucy was a beloved member of St. Winifred Catholic Church in Effie, where she served on The Ladies Alter Society and was a lay reader. Lucy was an avid gardener and enjoyed sharing new seedlings with family and friends. Her green thumb talent was learned from her mother, Nora. She was also an accomplished seamstress for her children and the community.

Those left to cherish her memory are her seven children, Wanda Mayeux (Paul) of Deville, Debbie Mayeux (Jude) of Deville, Katherine Paul (Bruce) of Fort Worth, Texas, Connie DeVille (Jay) of Rome, Georgia, Paula Weaver (Greg) of Bentley, Louisiana, Huey David Dauzat (Cathy) of Deville and Scott Anthony Dauzat (April) of Pineville; brother, Harry J. Guillot (Sandy) of Pinveille; eight teen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday, September 2nd, 2024 and resume on Tuesday, September 3rd, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, September 2nd, 2024 by Deacon Ken Primeaux.

Pallbearers honored to serve are her grandsons Christopher Mayeux, Jude Mayeux, Michael Mayeux, Brodie Paul, Derek Paul, Matthew DeVille, Stephen Dauzat, Rosney Dauzat, Trent Dauzat, Travis Dauzat and Joey Schoolcraft. Honorary pallbearers are her granddaughters Stacey Sykes, Tamara Campbell, Abbey DeVille, Laura Thompson, Lacey Torson, Meagan Dauzat and Kathleen Schoolcraft.
