Obituary: Christopher Darakis

Christopher R. Darakis, 77, a resident of Prescott, Arizona, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Prescott VA Medical Center in Arizona.
He was born May 20, 1947, in Amherst, Ohio. He was a graduate of Firelands High School. Christopher traveled extensively throughout his life before settling in Arizona in 2003. He served his country honorably as a United States Marine during the Vietnam War. Christopher worked as a self-employed builder using his skills primarily in Aspen, Colorado, building Estate homes. Beyond his career, he was a man of many passions. He had a love for photography, enjoyed scuba diving and found joy in motorcycle riding. In his younger years, he and his brother, Terry, shared memorable times as co-owners of Stars Disco in Lorain.
Amongst his many treasured family members he is survived by his brother, Terry L. Darakis of Wakeman, Ohio. He was preceded by his parents, Arthur ‘Arkie’ and Joyce Louise Anne Darakis (nee: Hughes).
Friends may call on Monday, November 11, 2024, from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst. Services will be rebroadcast at http://www.hempelfuneralhome.com. Burial will follow at Brownhelm Cemetery, Vermilion.
