If you've recently adopted a new pet, you might want to get in touch with the North Pole. One Bull Terrier pup was really concerned about his Christmas present after getting rescued from the shelter. So he placed a call to the big man himself (and your dog should too).

Little Promess is thinking ahead with the phone call he made. We get it! You don't want Santa to go to the wrong address.

Life has been good for the Bull Terrier dog since getting adopted by their new paw-rents. Promess has a warm bed, plenty of space to run and play — things are so much better! So naturally the dog was going to sure up his Christmas plans to have a great holiday too. Hello, Santa...

The video his parents shared shows the dog using FaceTime call to check in with Saint Nick. Pick up, Santa! This will only take a second.

"Calling Santa to make sure he knows I've moved and I'm no longer at the shelter," the video's text overlay reads. What an important phone call! "Just updating Santa with my new address," the Terrier joked in the caption.

People in the comments section were sure that the Bull Terrier had nothing to worry about. "Oh, Santa keeps track of all his goodest good puppers, I'm sure he knows!" one person assured him. "Oh precious baby!!! Santa knows exactly where you are!" another commenter exclaimed. "The adoption agency calls Santa and updates your details, no need to stress little guy," another person chimed in. "May every shelter dog be given a chance to make this call. Adopt these beautiful souls," someone else pleaded.

Reasons to Adopt Before the Holidays

Who wouldn't want to open their present on Christmas morning and find a dog in the box? Getting a dog is the ultimate holiday gift and by adopting from a rescue or shelter it can free up some much-needed room.

Adopting for the holidays means that you and your family will have some time off to get to know and train your new dog. This can actually help dogs with the transition from shelter life.

There are some reasons why you shouldn't get a pet during the holidays, however. Many dogs are returned to shelters after December because the recipient of the pet wasn't prepared for the commitment. Sometimes the recipient and the animal don't really get along because they were never given the chance to see if they're a match. If you know you'll be traveling a lot for the holidays, it's probably best to wait until you're home and have time to settle your dog in.

So do a gut-check before giving or getting a pet this holiday season. It might be a gift, but it's still one that's given for life!
