Reason 15-Year-Old Jack Russell Terrier Only Plays on the Beach Is Melting Hearts

As a pup parent, there are few things I love more than making my dogs happy. Seeing their tails wag always puts a smile on my face, even if I have to go above and beyond to make it happen. From tossing them treats to bringing them on vacation, there's nothing I wouldn't do for my boys!

It always touches my heart to see other dogs feeling happy, too. And that's why I can't get enough of 15-year-old Mrs. Jingles and her beach adventures! This sweet Jack Russell Terrier still has plenty of pep in her step, but her loving mama had to rethink playtime once the old gal became a bit less agile.

On December 15, Mrs. Jingles showed her TikTok viewers why she takes daily trips to the beach just to run and play. If you ask me, this solution seems like a win-win for everyone involved!

Aww! I truly cannot get enough of Mrs. Jingles. Her joy and zest for life are unparalleled, whether she's riding in her buggy or having zoomies on the beach. Even if she takes a tumble sometimes, she doesn't let it stop her from making the most of her playtime.

"What a gorgeous little lady," gushed commenter @booner1977. "At least she doesn't have far to fall when she goes over." LOL—that's true! This little Jack Russell Terrier has tiny legs, so she doesn't get hurt when she tumbles on the sand. In fact, it looks like she's having a fantastic time! Her Border Collie sister, Nibbles, often tags along on beach adventures, but some days, she hangs out with her dad instead. This gives Mom and Mrs. Jingles some quality one-on-one time, and it allows the dedicated dog owner to take adorable videos like this. Clearly, they have their routine mastered!

Naturally, viewers are smitten with the senior dog and her love for the beach, but they're also sending love to her mama, who remains dedicated to giving both pups their very best lives...even when that means taking daily trips to the beach!

Beach Safety for Dogs

Whenever a dog visits the beach, it's their owner's responsibility to keep them safe and well-mannered. For dogs who swim, this could mean buying a canine life jacket and practicing swimming in more controlled areas, like a pool. It's essential to know where it is and isn't safe for your dog to swim, whether because of rip currents, marine life, or even toxic algae.

Playing on the sand can pose risks, too, like accidental ingestion and eye irritation. Sand impaction in the digestive tract can be serious, so be sure to clean your dog's paws and face after playing in the sand. Use toys like Mrs. Jingles' tennis ball that don't hold sand, but most importantly—have tons of fun!
