Starting With Chords

A lot of people play fiddle. Basically nobody starts by learning chords before learning melodies. But that's actually how I learned. I started with chords.

One of the nice things about learning to play violin this way is that you can go busking even when you've only had just a few lessons. When I go busking I like to go to Davis Square where there are lots of people who are excited to listen to music. Part of busking is that when people think you're good at playing, sometimes they'll give you money.

I like learning to play chords because chords are easy to learn. For me, usually, even when I've just had two or three lessons I can play a song pretty well.

My fiddle teacher is Cecilia. She's my dad's bandmate.

My Rainbow Kit

For Christmas I got a really fun kit about rainbows. It had a rainbow catcher, a really cool necklace, a streamer thingy, and it also had a really really cool pinwheel, and it also had a bracelet and a pinata. Unfortunately the pinata didn't work out that well. I didn't make the bracelet yet. The pinata just didn't fall apart when we hit it. We had to take it apart with our hands to get it open.

It even had a really really fun part. Actually, it wasn't really that fun. It did mostly just have a little too much fragile stuff because, literally, we couldn't really find out how the necklace worked because it kept falling apart.

And, also, there was another kind of weird part about it. Well, it wasn't that weird. Because, my baby sister Nora ripped up a rainbow catcher before I even finished making it. Unfortunately, I didn't know how to put it back together. But my mom did say she would help me with putting my rainbow catcher back together. And, also, another kind of weird part about it. Well, it wasn't that weird: I accidentally sat on my pinwheel pieces, and now the paper is ripped and it's not able to be fixed.

And, also, I kind of had a very weird thing about it, because while I was writing this blog post my sister Lily kept poking me with her feet, and my baby sister Nora kept trying to pull my dress apart, which I did not like.

Corncob Dolls

I went to a farm and at the farm I got to see a corncrib and the corn that had fell out of the corncrib that no one wanted I got to use my fingers to take off the corn kernels and once the cobs were empty I put them in a bag and then once I got back to the house I was staying in I ate dinner and I got to work with a few pencils some tape and some paper and some markers and I used some of the markers to make the eyes and mouth but I didn't want to add a nose so what I did was I made little pink squares on the pieces of paper and then I wrapped up the corncob dolls in the paper that I had made pink squares on and then I taped the paper onto the corncob dolls and then I had a bunch of corncob dolls.

The next day I had a really fun time before it was time to go to the airport and in the time I had before we went to the airport I played in a little hoop made of netting and then I bounced on a really really fun bouncy thing that you can hold on to and you stand on it and you can just bounce on it, and then after that i tried going on the zip line which didn't work out very well because most of the times I just ended up hanging by arms from it.

Right after I made the corncob dolls I got to bounce on a really fun trampoline and see some cows and I got to sit on a real tractor and I also got to sit on a toy tractor—those were really fun!

On the Beach

I really like going in the water and this beach is a great place for building sand castles and boogie boarding. I also like trying to float on top of big waves. I'm not very good at it. I only float on the flat waves.

Buckingham Palace

I love England. Especially because of the big castle called Buckingham Palace. I got to see the outside there, but my mom showed me some pictures of the inside. I love it there. But the outside doesn't look very fancy to me. But I never knew why those people wear big bear skin black poofy hats.

There are many big buildings here. A lot of them are skyscrapers. And, there's lots of old buildings here. Like, buildings from long ago. Like, ones that Romans built! One of them is even a castle. It's pretty fun here, and it barely ever snows here. So there's always pretty flowers here. And there's even palm trees.

Nora is a very cute sister. I love Nora. Sometimes I call Nora "waffles". And sometimes I pretend that Nora is a dog. Waffles is a very cute baby anyways.

Turnovers

This is how to make a turnover from scratch. A cup of flour, 2 tablespoons of milk, and a quarter cup of oil. First, you get the ingredients together and you mix it with a fork. Then, after a little bit, you mix it with your hands. You have to make it look all the same. Then, you get a rolling pin and a pan and the dough, and you put the dough on the pan, and you roll out the dough with the rolling pin. Then you get something, and you put it in it, like chocolate, I like to do it with chocolate, and then, after you've put the filling in the turnover you fold the sides around the filling. Then you get a brush and a bowl, actually two bowls, and one egg. You throw away the egg shell, and the middle yellow part you keep and give the turnover an egg wash with the egg and the brush. But the rest you don't really do anything with it. And then you put it in the oven, and then when it's ready you take it out of the oven and then eat it!

Nora is very cute and silly, but I love to cuddle her. I really don't know why babies are called "babies". I love Nora. But sometime she cries a lot, and sometimes we have to change her diaper. I'm glad it's not me, or my sister Lily, who changes Nora's diaper.

I really like all my teachers. I haven't gone to preschool since I told my parents I didn't like it but I was joking at that time. I wasn't making very much friends at preschool and playgroup.

I really like seeing Felix. I wish I could see Felix more times. I do really like it when I have my sister, but I really like Felix more than my sister. But I do like my very most favorite people are my family. But I do like it when I can see my cousin Felix.

I really want to start a new book about James and the giant peach, and I really want more James and the Giant Peach, but we already finished that book. I really like my sister, and I want to see my cousin Felix more times, so maybe my grandpa Ricci could come over with Felix and Oli to have another sleepover.

Preschool

I don't really like chess. I don't do it very often. I really want to stop doing chess. I'm really unhappy that my sister likes to play chess. I really want to start doing sleepovers at Ricci's house with my cousin Felix and my sister and Oli.
