Rafi Azim-Khan has been listed as a leader in Marketing and Brand Law for over 25 years. He is Chair of the Ad Law Group of leading experts in the field. He has also been listed as one of the UK's "digital dozen" digital law specialists and Hall of Fame ranked by Legal 500 for media, advertising and data law. Rafi has written/co-authored 5 books including PLC's International Marketing and Sales Promotion Handbook, e-Business and the IPA's Ad Law (writing the major events/sponsorship and comparative advertising sections). Rafi has rare expertise having acted for 15 of the world's top 20 ad agencies, as well as global brands, and has highest level contacts at regulators such as the ICO, CMA and Advertising Standards Authority. Particular strengths include the global launch of new products and services, claims substantiation, digital marketing, media, adtech, AI and data use, sponsorships, rebrands, comparative advertising, consumer laws (including the DMCC) and overcoming competitor disputes and regulator challenges. Client work has included the creation and launch of Red Bull, the global launch of Starbucks' VIA product, multi-country data compliance projects (e.g. GDPR, ePD, CCPA, CPRA, LGPD etc.), the landmark ECJ comparative advertising case O2.v.3 and successfully advising Schick/Wilkinson Sword in its battles with Gillette in over 20 countries.
