Sausage and chili sauce add to the usual ground beef to make a great consistency and flavor for chili burgers.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pounds ground beef

  • 8 ounces Italian sausage

  • cup tomato-based chili sauce

  • salt and ground black pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat and lightly oil the grate.

  2. Combine ground beef, Italian sausage, chili sauce, salt, and black pepper in a medium bowl. Divide and form into 8 balls; flatten into patties.

  3. Grill patties until well done, 5 minutes per side. Serve on buns with your favorite toppings.

Note

More chili sauce may be used as desired in patties; I generally almost double the amount, which makes a very moist burger, but it also falls apart easily.
