Original recipe (1X) yields 6 servings 1 cup water 1 cup uncooked long-grain white rice 2 tablespoons vegetable oil 1 tablespoon minced garlic 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger root 1 ½ pounds pork tenderloin, cut into thin 1 1/2 inch strips 2 tablespoons oyster sauce 1 teaspoon salt 3 (8.25 ounce) cans sliced canned beets, juice reserved 1 ½ cups sugar Directions In a medium saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Stir in the rice. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer 20 minutes. Heat the oil in a separate medium saucepan over medium heat, and stir in the garlic and ginger. Cook about 1 minute.
