She's kind of like our Regina George; we heard Ina buys the apple tart at Trader Joe's, so we buy the apple tart from Trader Joe's. Ina loves Stanley Tucci, we love Stanley Tucci. That's why, when we heard Ina shared a summer dessert that requires zero cooking whatsoever—just a simple assembly of store-bought ingredients—our ears perked up. Technically, Ina shared the dessert on "The Today Show" last summer but it's trending online again (unsurprising as the official start to summer is quickly approaching) and we can see why. It's the simplest sweet ever, with only three ingredients, and Ina says her guests, "lose their minds," over how delicious it turns out. Here's how to make it. How Ina Garten Dresses Up Store-Bought Vanilla Ice Cream It starts with a pint of vanilla ice cream—as so many amazing summer desserts do. Garten adds a few scoops of ice cream to each bowl and drizzles with a little limoncello, aka lemon liqueur. You can D.I.Y. the liqueur, but as Garten famously says on "Barefoot Contessa," "store-bought is fine." This pairing alone will take your tastebuds on a trip to the coast of Italy; the zippy, zesty limoncello brightens up the rich, creamy ice cream for a more sophisticated take on the classic creamsicle. Garten says she likes to store her limoncello in the freezer so it's super cold when you drizzle it on. To finish this easy dessert, Ina garnishes the bowls with a biscotti each, picked up from a local bakery or grocery store. Again, you can make them yourself, but who wants to turn the oven on in the middle of summer? The biscotti are the perfect crunchy texture to complement the ice cream. And seriously, does it get easier than that?! Leave it to Ina to nail easy entertaining, especially when it comes to dessert. I know what I'll be serving my guests all summer long (right after they devour Ina's summer no-cook pasta sauce, that is!). Was this page helpful? Thanks for your feedback! Tell us why! Other Submit
