The noodles turned to paste after an hour of cooking.

I served these for a church supper. I made 4 times the amount and the were gone very quickly! Putting foil on the pan like the video suggests was very helpful for clean up. I think I will add mushrooms next time too.

I use 1/8 cup hot pepper sauce, but otherwise it amazing!

This soup is easily the best I have ever had. My father-in-law loves soups and he requests I bring several batches frozen to him every time I visit. I put everything in a crockpot, except the barley and frozen vegetables to cook. I do not brown the meat. I use canned beef consommé instead of bullion cubes for a richer flavor. Be sure to stick to stewed tomatoes as there is a difference in flavor! Amazing recipe!

The salad should definitely be made with fresh or frozen, par boiled green beans. I made it exacty as written an I 100% agree it is "missing something". I will try adding onion to my left overs and see if it works. My husband and daughter took a taste and then did not eat any of the rest of it. If it works with the onion, it would be a good low calorie, healthy salad. It is very easy to make.
