Grandma Nyman's Christmas Bar Cookies

These cookies were traditionally made during the Christmas Season and I think are Swedish in origin. They are labor intensive but so worth the time! Perfect dunked in coffee or milk on a cold winter's morning!

Ingredient Checklist

1 c white sugar
1 c light brown sugar
1 c butter
3 beaten eggs
1 t vanilla
1 t salt
1 t baking powder
1 t baking soda
4 c UNSIFTED flour

Directions

Instructions Checklist

Step 1

Cream first 3 ingredients together.

Mix eggs into creamed mixture.
Step 3

Mix all ingredients well and place into a cookie press.
Step 4
Press cookies onto a cookie sheet in long ribbons.
Step 5
Bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes on clean non-greased pan.
Step 6
Cookies should be removed from the cookie sheet before they cool and become hard and stick.
Step 7
(Pan should be cleaned and cooled for each batch baked.)
