this recipe has been in my family for many years. the blending of sweet and savory makes this dish perfect for wowing your guests. the presentation is spectacular and the taste to match. your guests will think you slaved over the stove on this one when in fact the dish is quite simple. this is the best chicken recipe i have for entertaining. you will not be disappointed. I like to pair this with stir fried chinese pea pods and wild rice as sides.

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line baking pan with foil. Place hens skin side down. Combine remaining ingredients in medium pan . Heat to boiling. Simmer for 2 minutes. Stir constantly. Brush surface of hens with sauce. Roast for 1/2 hour. Baste often. Turn pan and roast another 1/2 hour. The hens will become a beautiful brown with a nice carmelized topping. If they reach this point before the hens are done, I put foil over the top while finishing to cook.
