I love this recipe and it is exactly the same as my Mother’s - she was famous for her potato salad. The only thing she did differently was to add finely chopped red delicious apple. Makes a world of difference - but the original recipe is also fantastic even if you don’t add the apple.

Almost my mom's recipe.I'm 77 years old and this is what makes my mom's recipe the very best: Best Foods Mayonnaise (Use more than this recipe calls for) or whatever it's called on the East Coast. We don't use relish, that's the only omission. One addition: sliced black olives. The celery and onions are diced about the same size. When tasted and ready, put into a serving bowl and top with Salad Supreme or Paprika for a beautiful addition to your dinner.

OK with tweaks
This is a good basic potato salad. I added more mayo and minced dill pickles (instead of the sweet relish as I don’t like sweet pickles) I also added a couple dashes of dried chives and thyme. Turned out pretty good.

Loved it. Made it several times. Lots of flavor with only 1/4 cup mayonnaise!
