From the fish and chicken sandwiches to the decadent desserts, everyone can truly have it their way at the restaurant. Beyond its signature flame-grilled entrées, BK is beloved for cornering another sector of the fast food market: fries. The shoestring French fries are a staple on the menu, but BK has taken its offerings to a new level by “fry-ifying” so many additional foods. We’ve seen the Chicken Fries, Mozzarella Fries, Churro Fries, and now Pickle Fries. Burger King Launches New Pickle Fries Burger King Burger King is adding its new fried pickles to menus thanks to the Million Dollar Whopper contest that’s currently being held. The fast food chain asked its customers to design their dream Whopper for a chance to win $1 million and see the burger on menus. BK selected its final three builds—the Fried Pickle Ranch Whopper, Maple Bourbon BBQ Whopper, and Mexican Street Corn Whopper—that will hit menus nationwide on Nov. 14 for customers to try and vote on their favorite. BK tops the Fried Pickle Ranch Whopper with shoestring fried pickles that the chain also decided to offer as a side dish. The Pickle Fries are served with Hidden Valley Ranch for dipping and will be available alongside BK’s fries and onion rings for a limited time. I tried the new Pickle Fries on a visit to Burger King’s Miami headquarters, and here is my honest review. My Honest Review of BK's New Pickle Fries I tried Burger King’s Pickle Fries both on the Fried Pickle Whopper and as the side dish variety. While I enjoyed the Fried Pickle Whopper, it didn’t wow me. Because the burger's fried pickles are accompanied by pickle ranch and lettuce, they lose their crunch, and the true flavor gets buried in the sauce, bacon, and cheese. On their own, the Pickle Fries shine. The shoestring pickles are lightly battered to add a flavorful breading that crisps up for a nice crunch—but doesn’t overpower the salty dill pickles. Served with Hidden Valley Ranch, you’ve got the perfect side dish for any burger or sandwich on the menu. Even if the Fried Pickle Whopper doesn’t win the million-dollar competition, I hope that Burger King keeps the Pickle Fries on the menus long after the contest ends. Was this page helpful?
