  • 1 (15.25 oz) box white cake mix
  • 6 large eggs
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup water
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • Food coloring (gel or liquid) in desired colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple)
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 (16 oz) jar vanilla frosting
  • 1 ½ cups frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • Piping bags or large zip-top bags
  • 1 dish towel
  • Optional: ½ cup sprinkles
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (177 degrees C). Line a large baking sheet (12x18in) with parchment paper and spray with cooking oil, then set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat eggs with an electric mixer until thick and pale in color, about six minutes. Mix in cake mix, sour cream, water, and oil, beating on low speed for 30 seconds and then medium speed for one minute.
