DAVID LEE HERRELL

David Lee Herrell, 72 passed away at his home on November 25, 2024, in Alamogordo, New Mexico. He was born on April 13, 1952, in Elk City Oklahoma to Charles and Francis “Dealine”Herrell.
 After David graduated Alamogordo High School, he moved to Las Cruces, NM and attended NMSU. David graduated with a business degree. He moved back to Alamogordo to work as a realtor and appraiser with his dad at Herrell Realty. Later David built and owned the Texaco “Timeout Travel Center”. After selling the travel center and taking some time off. He decided to go back to earn his real estate license and work as a realtor at Coldwell Banker before finally retiring. David loved taking it easy, he enjoyed feeding the quail by his house and meeting up with the guys at coffee. After coffee, he would go and check on Sal and the guys at the shop. On his way home, he would often stop by and check in on us and always have a treat for the dogs. And of course, you would never see him without his favorite Boston baseball cap along with being a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan.
 David was survived by his daughter, Jamie Colmenero and husband Sal Colmenero of Alamogordo, NM. His stepson, Drake Miller (Jaclyn) of Las Cruces, NM. Five grandchildren Jayden, Hannah, Bella, Gavin C. and Gavin M.
 He was proceeded in death by his father Charles Herrell, mother Francis “Dealine” Herrell, sister Charline Bates and her husband Jack Bates.
 Cremation will take place at PCS in Alamogordo and David’s ashes will be placed with his father, mother and sister at Christ Community Church Chapel.
 No services will be held.
