S7 Airlines has launched flights to Phuket from Irkutsk. From October 28, 2024, round-trip flights will be operated three times a week: on Monday, Thursday and Saturday. From December 15 until the end of the winter season, the airline will add two more weekly flights in this direction – on Wednesday and Sunday, thus the frequency of flights will increase to five per week.

"This winter season, we have resumed a flight from Irkutsk to Phuket, the largest island in Thailand with a developed infrastructure and a variety of beaches. Thailand is popular among Russians for winter holidays, so we expect that not only Irkutsk residents will use the new route, but also – with a transfer in Irkutsk – our passengers from more than 10 Russian cities, including Novosibirsk and Moscow," says Igor Veretennikov, Director of strategy at S7 Group.

The flight will depart from Irkutsk at 14:25, landing in Phuket at 20:40 local time. The return plane from the island will depart at 21:40 and land in the capital of the Irkutsk region at about 05:40. The journey time will be about seven hours. The flights will be operated on comfortable Boeing 737-800 airliners, which can accommodate 168 passengers in economy class and eight in business class.

In addition to the new destination, from November 1, S7 Airlines will add flights between Irkutsk and Bangkok. So, on Friday and Sunday, planes will fly between these cities three times a day: departures are scheduled for 05:05, 10:10 and 21:10, and landing at 10:25, 15:30 and 2:30, respectively. Return flights will depart from Bangkok at 11:25, 16:30 and 3:30 (the latter on Friday night and Sunday night), landing at 19:00, 00:05 and 11:05. Thus, in the winter season, S7 Airlines will operate 14-16 flights per week between Irkutsk and Bangkok.

S7 Airlines passengers also have access to flights from Irkutsk to such tourist destinations as Sochi, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Vladivostok, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Ulan-Ude, Yekaterinburg, Kyzyl and Beijing.
