The Archetype's of Senge

With his study "The Fifth Discipline" published on 1970 Senge explained the disciplines of learning organizations and classified these disciplines under five topics as; systematic thinking, personal mastery, mental models, shared vision, and team learning. These contributions Senge made to the field of administration have attracted much more attention from neuroscientists, neuropsychologists and organizational psychologists rather than the field researchers and after 1970s there has not been much discussion, especially in the field of management-organization. However, archetypes defined by system thinking derived from the theory of system dynamics have the feature of being a strategy card in organizational decisions. These features Senge mentioned also tries to put an end to the view that the world is made up of discrete parts and to show that the world is more than a linear simplicity with a head and a tail. These tools try to picture the world as circular patterns that have no connection with each other. In addition to this Senge discovered that some patterns repeat themselves and he named them as system archetypes. This study aims to bring the archetypes that Senge had defined to the management field and as a result to enrich the Turkish literature.
