Dr Karl Kruszelnicki

Dr Karl Kruszelnicki

When NASA classified Karl as non-astronaut material in 1981 he walked straight into ABC Radio station Double J and offered to talk about the space shuttle launch. They said "okay" and his media career took off from there. More than 35 years later you'll find him on triplej every Thursday morning with Zan Rowe. He also has a weekly podcast, Great Moments in Science, and appears regularly on ABC Local, News24 and the BBC.

Dr Karl is also the author of 40 books, the winner of an IgNobel Prize for his work on belly button fluff, and one of Australia's 100 National Treasures. He even has an asteroid named after him — Dr Karl/18412!
