FAQs:

How Can the Business Operation Report Improve My Business?

The WQA Business Operations Report is a new online interactive business tool for WQA dealer members in the U.S. to analyze the success of their business and compare their performance to the industry in five key areas:

  • Profile (size and location)
  • Financial (expenses and profitability)
  • Business Operations & Sales
  • Compensation
  • Employee Benefits & Training

A team of experts created the tool to work for companies of ANY size, with single or many locations.

How do I get signed up?

  • Dealers who plan to participate with a single location should visit the Business Operations Reporting Site and click on the option to sign-up and get started.
  • Dealerships with multiple locations that wish to participate should contact [email protected] for sign-up assistance so that all locations can be accessed with a single login

*Please note that your Business Operations Report account is separate from your WQA membership account.

How do I access results?

Companies who participated in previous rounds of the survey and qualified for results can access their reports by logging into their account on the Business Operations Reporting Site: https://biztrends.wqa.org/

Results are available in three formats and can be accessed via the “View my Results” section of the homepage, “Results: By Question” tab, and the “Results: All Reports” tab. For additional explanation on the results, refer to pages 11-14 of the user guide located on the site’s support page.

How do I use the data in the report?

To demonstrate how you can use the benchmarking data in this report to make your business better, WQA members Candice Wentling, MWS, of Certified Action and Amanda Crangle of Lamplight Digital Media looked at just a few data points from FY 2019 in this report during the 2021 Mid-Year Leadership Conference:

What are the benefits of participating in the report?

See how you stack up to the industry as a whole or use filters to compare to a similar peer group (based on size, location, etc.). Participating will give your company access to key benchmark calculations, question-by-question comparisons, and personalized dynamic results.

Is the report easy to complete?

user’s guide helps users navigate the site and will answer most of your “how-to” questions. Help text is used throughout the survey to assist you with entering accurate data.

The site is accessible 24 hours a day. Log in and out at your convenience to enter or view data or run a report. The questions can be downloaded so you can share them with others to help gather the needed data.

How is data security and confidentiality handled?

The online data reporting site is hosted and managed by Dynamic Benchmarking (an independent 3rd party vendor) in order to maintain confidentiality of company data. All data submissions and the delivery of results are protected using multiple layers of security and encryption. Individual responses are only accessible to the WQA Clean Team and Dynamic Benchmarking Site Manager for the purposes of data review/validation and creation of consolidated reports for multi-location dealerships. The Clean Team is a select group of staff with training in handling sensitive, confidential information.

Responses are released to participants as aggregated data that cannot be traced back to specific companies, facilities, or individuals. To ensure data anonymity, all results are aggregated, and a pre-determined minimum number of responses are required for results to be displayed, even when filters are applied.

The Water Quality Association’s market trend reports follow antitrust guidelines to address the risk associated with sharing sensitive company data even when aggregated and ensure we maintain the highest standards of antitrust compliance. These guidelines include:

1) Data is gathered and managed by a third party
2) Data is a minimum of three months old
3) Data involves at least five participants
