54-Inch PCCP Force Main Design-Build Rehabilitation
This project consisted of rehabilitating and replacing approximately 19,000 linear feet of an existing 54-inch pre-stressed cylinder concrete pipe force main.
The work included lining the original 54-inch force main with a 48-inch high-density polyethylene component; furnishing all materials, labor and equipment necessary for the removal and replacement of varying lengths of the force main and installing four 54-inch inline replacement plug valves; and any other tasks for a complete, functional and satisfactory installation.
Coordination with the respective permitting agencies proved to be the biggest challenge in meeting the required start date. Each permit application was walked through each agency to assure the permits were being addressed adequately. Since the entire pipeline project ran through a very dense urban section of Miami, the team also developed a complete maintenance of traffic plan.
