WGST Hiring 2 Distinguished Professors

The Department of Women’s and Gender Studies (WGST) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) seeks to appoint two distinguished professors, the Kappa Kappa Gamma Distinguished Professor of Women’s and Gender Studies and a Distinguished Professor of Feminist Studies. The ideal candidates’ research and teaching would focus on gender and feminist studies. These appointments will begin July 1, 2025. We seek colleagues who will complement existing strengths in our department. We are particularly interested in social scientists who specialize in LGBTQ+ Studies, Global Asian and/or Asian American Feminisms, and/or Indigenous Studies and those who have experience in academic administration. The selected candidates will be expected to teach two courses per semester at all levels of our curriculum, publish actively, and offer service to the Department and University.
