Cameroon environmentalists tackle plastic pollution in Wouri River
Cameroon produces 6 million tonnes of waste every year, including 600,000 tonnes of plastic waste. Piles of plastic have ended up in the Wouri River in Douala, one of the most polluted rivers in Africa after the Nile and the Niger, where environmental activists have been collecting it and taking it to be recycled.

Wouri River Cameroon
This River has a big history dated back to 15th century. The counties name has been originated from this river. Cameroon is called Cameroun in French, Kamerun in German, Camarões in Portuguese, and Cameroon in English. Cameroon in central Africa is bounded clockwise (from the west) by the Gulf of Guinea, Nigeria, Chad, Central African Republic, Congo, Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

This River has a big history dated back to 15th century. The counties name has been originated from this river. Cameroon is called Cameroun in French, Kamerun in German, Camarões in Portuguese, and Cameroon in English. The Wouri forms at the confluence of the rivers Nkam and Makombé, 32 km (20 mi) northeast of the city of Yabassi. It then flows about 160 km (99 mi) southeast to the Wouri estuary at Douala, the chief port and industrial city in the southwestern part of Cameroon on the Gulf of Guinea. The river is navigable about 64 km (40 mi) upriver from Douala.
You can get fresh fishes on this river bank which will cost you around 2000 to 5000 Francs.
