An early name for West Side Story used when it still took place in the Lower East Side about a Jewish girl (that became Maria), and an Irish Catholic boy (that became Tony)
East Side Story is a 2006 romantic comedy film written, produced, and directed by Carlos Portugal; and starring Rene Alvarado, Steve Callahan, and Gladise Jimenez.
Plot
East Side Story is the story of Diego (René Alvarado), a young, closetedLatino, who helps his grandmother (Irene DeBari) run the family restaurant while carrying on a relationship with equally closeted Pablo (David Berón).
Diego has long felt trapped by the conservative culture of East LA and plans to move away and open an upscale restaurant, hopefully with his lover, but Pablo views their relationship very differently - a point driven home when he begins dating Diego's Aunt Bianca (Gladise Jimenez). At the same time, Wesley and his boyfriend move in, gentrifying the neighborhood. The attraction between Wesley and Diego is immediate and electric, forcing both men to reexamine their state of affairs.
"East Side Story" is the 23rd episode, and first season finale, of the dramedy series Ugly Betty, which aired on May 17, 2007. After ABC had previously announced 22 episodes for the season, this 23rd episode was added for the debut season, due to the series' success.
In many cases, the sequel continues elements of the original story, often with the same characters and settings. A sequel can lead to a series, in which key elements appear in a number of stories. Although the difference between more than one sequel and a series is somewhat arbitrary, it is clear that some media franchises have enough sequels to become a series, whether originally planned as such or not.
Sequels are attractive to creators and to publishers because there is less risk involved in returning to a story with known popularity rather than developing new and untested characters and settings. Audiences are sometimes eager for more stories about popular characters or settings, making the production of sequels financially appealing.
Woman's World is an American supermarket weekly magazine with a circulation of 1.6 million readers. Printed on paper generally associated with tabloid publications and priced accordingly, it concentrates on short articles about subjects such as weight loss, relationship advice and cooking, along with feature stories about women in the STEM fields and academia. It has held the title of the most popular newsstand women's magazine, with sales of 77 million copies in 2004. It competes with more general-market traditional magazines such as Woman's Day and Family Circle.
History
The magazine was launched in the United States in 1981 by a European magazine publisher, Heinrich Bauer Verlag of Hamburg, Germany, which set up an American subsidiary, Heinrich Bauer North America in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. Woman's World was the company's first American release, and was aimed at a target audience of middle-class mothers. The magazine gained rapid popularity, and within ten years had a circulation of 1.5 million readers, generating $15 million USD in annual revenue.
"Woman's World" is a song by American singer Cher, from her twenty-fifth studio album Closer to the Truth (2013). Written and produced by Matt Morris, Paul Oakenfold, Anthony "TC" Crawford and Joshua "J.D." Walker, the song was released on June 18, 2013 by Warner Bros. Records as the album's lead single. It is her first studio album since 2001's, Living Proof. On June 18, 2013, Cher's album was made available to pre-order on iTunes, upon doing so, "Woman's World" would become an instant download. "Woman's World" became a modest hit on Billboard's top-selling electronic dance music chart. On the Hot Dance Club Songschart, it became Cher's eighth number-one single, after being the greatest-gainer for its fourth, consecutive week. On the Adult Contemporarychart "Woman's World" debuted at number 30, making Cher one of few artists to have appeared on that chart in every one of the last six decades.
Background and release
After a nearly ten-year break, Cher resumed her recording career when she starred in the 2010 musical film Burlesque. Cher recorded two tracks, "Welcome to Burlesque" and "You Haven't Seen the Last of Me", for the film's soundtrack album which was issued in November 2010. The soundtrack was met with positive reviews, with critics praising her return to music. In early 2011, Cher began work on her twenty-fifth studio album.

East Side Story Sneak Peek!
A Sneak Peek of a scene of misunderstood origins and an undercurrent of sexual attraction!
Called a "feel good movie" by its fans, this appealing debut film of director Carlos Portugal suffers from no freshman errors, as Portugal confidently tells the story of Diego (played by the wonderful and charming Rene Alvarado), a young, closeted Latino, who helps his grand-mother (standout Irene DeBarri) run the family restaurant while carrying on a clandestine relationship with equally closeted Pablo (the delightful David Beron).
