Whistler (Squamish language: Sḵwiḵw) is a Canadian resort town in the southern Pacific Ranges of the Coast Mountains in the province of British Columbia, Canada, approximately 125km (78mi) north of Vancouver and 36km (22mi) south of the town of Pemberton. Incorporated as the Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW), it has a permanent population of approximately 9,965, plus a larger but rotating "transient" population of workers, typically younger people from beyond BC, notably from Australia and Europe.
Over two million people visit Whistler annually, primarily for alpine skiing and snowboarding and, in summer, mountain biking at Whistler Blackcomb. Its pedestrian village has won numerous design awards and Whistler has been voted among the top destinations in North America by major ski magazines since the mid-1990s. During the 2010 Winter Olympics, Whistler hosted most of the alpine, Nordic, luge, skeleton, and bobsled events, though freestyle skiing and all snowboarding events were hosted at Cypress Mountain near Vancouver.
Canada (i/ˈkænədə/; French: [ka.na.da]) is a country in the northern part of North America. Its ten provinces and three territories extend from the Atlantic to the Pacific and northward into the Arctic Ocean, covering 9.98million square kilometres (3.85million square miles), making it the world's second-largest country by total area and the fourth-largest country by land area. Canada's border with the United States is the world's longest land border. Canada is sparsely populated, the majority of its land territory being dominated by forest and tundra and the Rocky Mountains; about four-fifths of the country's population of 35 million people live near the southern border. The majority of Canada has a cold or severely cold winter climate, but southerly areas are warm in summer.
The land now called Canada has been inhabited for millennia by various Aboriginal peoples. Beginning in the 15th century, British and French colonies were established on the Atlantic coast, with the first establishment of a region called "Canada" occurring in 1537. As a consequence of various conflicts, the United Kingdom gained and lost territories within British North America until left, in the late 18th century, with what mostly geographically comprises Canada today. Pursuant to the British North America Act, on July 1, 1867, the colonies of Canada, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotiajoined to form the autonomous federal Dominion of Canada. This began an accretion of provinces and territories to the self-governing Dominion to the present ten provinces and three territories forming modern Canada. In 1931, Canada achieved near total independence from the United Kingdom with the Statute of Westminster 1931, and full sovereignty was attained when the Canada Act 1982 removed the last remaining ties of legal dependence on the British parliament.
Provinces of the Anglican Church of Canada are headed by a Metropolitan, elected from among the province's diocesan bishops. This bishop then becomes Archbishop of his or her diocese and Metropolitan of the Province. The current Metropolitan of the Province of Canada is the Most Rev. Percy D. Coffin, Archbishop of Western Newfoundland.

Is the government telling the truth about Canada's debt? | About That
The federal government is defending the fact that it overshot last fiscal year's deficit target by roughly $20 billion by suggesting our economy is the envy of the G7. Andrew Chang explains why that argument is misleading, and what $1.2 trillion in federal debt actually means. Images gathered from Reuters, Getty Images, and The Canadian Press.

Covering business, finance and economics every week can be a little bit depressing.
In just the last 2 years personal savings have been evaporated, consumer debt has hit record highs, the job market has been defined by anti-worker trends such as ghost jobs, broad sector layoffs and gigification, all while asset prices have ballooned far faster than household incomes, or even their intrinsic fundamentals.
The results have been pretty simple, it’s getting much harder for people who work for a living to keep up with those who already have assets…
Even the most diligent and career focused people are finding it tough to make ends meet let alone accumulate assets so that they too can one day achieve financial security…
But if ever you are feeling like it’s all a bit hopeless, just remember, it could be worse… you could be from Canada…

Australian travel blogger Michael Turtle visits Whistler for 48 hours and shows all the cool things you can pack into four days. We think you should stay longer, but if you only have two days you can still have a good time!
Better known as a winter skiing destination, but there is an abundance of activities in the summer time as well! Stay at the iconic Farimont Chateau in Whistler for the best location in town. Take a helicopter ride up to rainbow mountain, learn about the local expert guided tours as they walk you on the Blackcomb Mountain Summit.
For more adventurous spirits, take a gentle trail to Lost Lake just outside of the village for the perfect adraneline rush! Doesn't get better than this! Fish for trout and enjoy the Barefoot Bistro cusine with food and the cold vodka tasting rooms. Go looking for the good old Black Bears which are a sight to behold and fascinating to watch. End the trip with a fun zip line through the trees in the mountains conckuding the trip on quite the high!

Whistler is a town north of Vancouver, British Columbia, that's home to Whistler Blackcomb, one of the largest ski resorts in North America. In winter besides skiing and snowboarding, the area offers snowshoeing, tobogganing, and ski jumping at the Olympic Park, a venue for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.
The hub of Whistler is a compact, chalet-style pedestrian village at the base of Whistler and Blackcomb mountains.
Whistler is consistently ranked as the number one ski resort in North America.
Whistler became a year-long resort offering skiing in winter and mountain biking in summer.
Whistler Bike Park has one of the most developed and extensive trail networks on the planet. It provides mountain biking adventures with food & bike shops.
The bike park is open this Summer in line with the COVID-19 health recommendations from Vancouver Coastal Health, the Province of BC, and Provincial Health Authority. The resort will continue providing a world-class riding environment, prioritizing health and safety.
Whistler worth visiting even if you don’t ski or bike. Everywhere you look there's an amazing view, a mountain to explore, huge waterfalls, well-managed trails and campgrounds, and great rock climbing.
Mongolie Grill has an amazing off-season deal of 50% off. I sure did take advantage of it myself. *This is NOT an ad, I highly recommend this place from the bottom of my heart*

These towering peaks combine to produce North America's largest winter sports area, and Whistler Village provides easy access to some of the best skiing available.
Whistler had international clout before it co-hosted the 2010 Winter Olympics with Vancouver, which was only a 90-minute car ride away, but the games only added to the mountain resort's reputation as a great recreation hotspot.

If you are looking for an amazing destination with beautiful scenery, lakes, lighthouses, mountains, and valleys, Canada won’t disappoint you. Visit a quiet town, a national park, or a wilderness area not far from a major city for a vacation filled with gorgeous views, Northern Lights, waterfalls, and fun outdoor adventures - Canada got all for you.
Let's take a look at the 10 best places to visit in Canada that should be on everyone's bucket list.

The US-Canada border is one of the most well known, most crossed borders in the entire world. And because both countries have been friendly for so long, you might think that this means the border is pretty simple, right? The reality is anything but. The US-Canada border is filled with small little oddities that make you question whether this is really a border at all!
In this video, we'll cover the extensive geography of the border, from the far east to the far west and then all the way to the north. Then we'll dive deep into all of the weird little oddities along the border and how they can change your perception of just what a border is.
