Moments is the nineteenth studio album released by American country artist Barbara Mandrell. The album was released in August 1986 on MCA Records and was produced by Tom Collins. It would be her final studio release for the MCA label before switiching to EMI America Records in 1987.
Background
Moments was recorded in June 1986 in Nashville, Tennessee, two months before its official release.Moments contained ten tracks of newly recorded material. Mandrell's musical style and sound changed for the album, as most of its track had a significant traditional country music approach, as traditional musical styles were reentering country music. This was exemplified in such songs as the sixth track, "No One Mends a Broken Heart Like You". The album was issued as a LP album, with five songs contained on each side of the record. The album has not since been reissued on a compact disc.
Moments was not provided with any music reviews by critics including Allmusic.
"Moments" is a song written Sam Tate, Annie Tate and Dave Berg, and recorded by Canadian country music band Emerson Drive. It was released in November 2006 as the third single from the album Countrified. The song was a Top Five hit on the Canadian country music charts. It also reached Number One on the Billboard U.S. Hot Country Songs charts, becoming the first Number One single not only for the band, but also for their label. Midas Records Nashville. "Moments" was the most played country music song of 2007 in Canada.
Story
"Moments" is a ballad in which the narrator, a young man, plots to commit suicide by jumping off a bridge. While on the bridge, he notices an older, homeless man, to whom he gives money, figuring that he "wouldn't need it anyway". Upon receiving the money, the homeless man tells of his past, saying that he "hasn't always been this way", and that he has had his "Moments, days in the sun / Moments [he] was second to none". Upon hearing the story, the young man then ponders his own life, wondering if anyone will miss him, should he decide to take his own life. He remembers his own "Moments, days in the sun." The young man then walks away from the bridge, imagining the older man telling his friends about his moments, including "that cool night on the East Street bridge / When a young man almost ended it / I was right there, wasn't scared a bit / And I helped to pull him through".
Moments is the third album by singer Boz Scaggs, released in 1971. It was his debut album on the Columbia label.
Reception
Allmusic gave a thoroughly warm retrospective review of the album, praising its mellow and laid-back tone. They also considered the album a precursor to Scaggs's greatest artistic achievement, saying that it "found him sketching out the blue-eyed soul that would eventually bring him fame when he streamlined it for 1976's Silk Degrees."

A circle is a simple shape in Euclidean geometry. It is the set of all points in a plane that are at a given distance from a given point, the centre; equivalently it is the curve traced out by a point that moves so that its distance from a given point is constant. The distance between any of the points and the centre is called the radius.
A circle is a simple closed curve which divides the plane into two regions: an interior and an exterior. In everyday use, the term "circle" may be used interchangeably to refer to either the boundary of the figure, or to the whole figure including its interior; in strict technical usage, the circle is only the boundary and the whole figure is called a disk.
A circle may also be defined as a special ellipse in which the two foci are coincident and the eccentricity is 0, or the two-dimensional shape enclosing the most area per unit perimeter squared, using calculus of variations.
Circles was a feminist film and video distribution network in the UK, which was set up out of a desire to distribute and screen women's films on their own terms. It was founded in 1979 by feminist filmmakers Lis Rhodes, Jo Davis, Felicity Sparrow and Annabel Nicolson, publishing a 1980 catalogue including about 30 films, and it closed in 1991, largely due to funding issues that also prompted the merger of Circles and Cinema of Women, which led to the formation of Cinenova. A previous funding crisis in 1987, when funding by Tower Hamlets council had been withdrawn, had been resolved with replacement funding from the British Film Institute.
Origins
According to Jenny Holland and Jane Harris, "Circles started in 1979, partly as a response to an Arts Council of Great Britain exhibition on experimental film. Feeling that their work on women's involvement in this field was being marginalised, the women on the exhibition committee withdrew their painstakingly researched work and issued an explanatory statement. In many ways, this research was the cornerstone of Circles, which went on to distribute the films by Alice Guy, Germaine Dulac, Maya Deren, and Lois Weber which were to have been discussed in the exhibition." The statement, "Women and the Formal Film," was published in the "Film as Film" exhibition catalogue and acted as a manifesto for the distribution collective that emerged.
"Circles" is a song by English musician George Harrison, released as the final track of his 1982 album Gone Troppo. Harrison wrote the song in India in 1968 while he and the Beatles were studying Transcendental Meditation with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. The theme of the lyrics is reincarnation. The composition reflects the cyclical aspect of human existence as, according to Hindu doctrine, the soul continues to pass from one life to the next. Although the Beatles never formally recorded it, "Circles" was among the demos the group made at Harrison's home, Kinfauns, in May 1968, while considering material for their double album The Beatles.
Harrison revisited "Circles" during the sessions for his 1979 album George Harrison before he finally recorded it for Gone Troppo. Over this period, Harrison had softened the spiritual message in his work and had also begun to forgo the music business for a career as a film producer with his company HandMade Films. The song was produced by Harrison, Ray Cooper and former Beatles engineer Phil McDonald, with recording taking place at Harrison's Friar Park studio between May and August 1982. The track features extensive use of keyboards and synthesizer, with Billy Preston, Jon Lord and Mike Moran among the contributing musicians.

Emerson Drive - moments
song lyrics:
I was coming to the end of a long long walk
When a man crawled out of a cardboard box
Under the E. Street Bridge
Followed me on to it
I went out halfway across
With that homeless shadow tagging along
So I dug for some change
Wouldn't need it anyway
He took it lookin' just a bit ashamed
He said, You know, I haven't always been this way
I've had my moments, days in the sun
Moments I was second to none
Moments when I knew I did what I thought I couldn't do
Like that plane ride coming home from the war
That summer my son was born
And memories like a coat so warm
A cold wind can't get through
Lookin' at me now you might not know it
But I've had my moments
I stood there tryin' to find my nerve
Wondering if a single soul on Earth
Would care at all
Miss me ...

This is a song that I listen to occasionally when I'm feeling down. The message is amazing and it gives me goosebumps haha. I don't own this song, just put the lyrics on it for those that want to know what the words are blah blah blah. I tried to do my best, any errors I apologize, I ain't perfect. I hope you like it nonetheless, and that it brings you happiness for the few minutes it runs. Have a great day!! ♥

Standing with him there I felt ashamed

Moments when I knew I did what I thought I couldn't do
Like the day I walked away from the wine
For a woman who became my wife
And a love that, when it was right,
Could always see me through
Lookin' at me now you might not know it
But I've had my moments
I know somewhere 'round a trashcan fire tonight
That old man tells his story one more time
He says
I've had my moments, days in the sun

And I helped to pull him through

This is a song that I listen to occasionally when I'm feeling down. The message is amazing and it gives me goosebumps haha. I don't own this song, just put the lyrics on it for those that want to know what the words are blah blah blah. I tried to do my best, any errors I apologize, I ain't perfect. I hope you like it nonetheless, and that it brings you happiness for the few minutes it runs. Have a great day!! ♥
