The film is based on an original screenplay by Quentin Tarantino that was heavily revised by writer David Veloz, associate producer Richard Rutowski, and director Stone. Tarantino received story credit. Jane Hamsher, Don Murphy, and Clayton Townsend produced the film, with Arnon Milchan, Thom Mount, and Stone as executive producers.
Notorious for its violent content and inspiring "copycat" crimes, the film was named the eighth most controversial film of all time by Entertainment Weekly in 2006.
Plot
Prologue
Mickey Knox and his wife Mallory stop at a roadside café in the New Mexico desert. A group of rednecks arrive and one begins sexually harassing Mallory. She briefly encourages him before beating him to a pulp. Mickey and Mallory then murder all but one of the diner's patrons, culminating in a morbid game of Eeny, meeny, miny, moe to decide who lives and dies. After executing the waitress Mabel, the couple ensures that the only survivor remembers their names before they embrace and declare their undying love.
Natural Born Killers is the soundtrack to the film Natural Born Killers, produced by Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails. Reznor reportedly produced the soundtrack using a portable Pro Tools in his hotel room while on tour. On his approach to compiling the soundtrack, Reznor told MTV:
Some songs were written especially for the film or soundtrack, such as "Burn" by Nine Inch Nails.
"We've Got Tonite" (sic) is a song written by American Bob Seger, from his 1978 album Stranger in Town. It was a hit single for Seger and the Silver Bullet Band, reaching No. 13 on the U.S. pop charts. In the UK, it reached No. 41 in 1979, later making it to No. 22 during a 1995 re-release to promote a Greatest Hits album, while in 1982 a live version from the in-concert album Nine Tonight reached No. 60.
It also played in the background of Melissa Sue Anderson's 1979 TV film Survival of Dana, in a scene where Anderson's character was visiting one of her new friends' homes and was in a room with co-star Robert Carradine's character Donny Davis, whom she was falling for.
The title cut, a duet with Sheena Easton, was the debut single and became one of Rogers' signature hits, soaring to #1 on the country charts and #2 on the Adult Contemporary chart, reaching #6 on the Hot 100 chart. There were two other singles: "All My Life", which peaked at #13 on the country charts, though it fared at #3 in Canada, and "Scarlet Fever", which is lesser-known but still reached #5 and #4 in the US. and Canada, respectively.
The title of the album comes from its signature track, written by Bob Seger and originating from his album, Stranger in Town. By comparison with Rogers' version, Seger's only reached #13 on the Hot 100, making Rogers' version better-known, five years after it was written.
One song on the album that never became a single but still became one of Rogers' signature songs is the powerful "You Are So Beautiful". This track was placed at the end of the album as a tribute to his legions of female fans, and stands today as one of the songs that Kenny is known for. The song was written by Billy Preston and Bruce Fisher and originally appears on the 1974 Preston album The Kids and Me.

Natural Born Killers - Original Theatrical Trailer
Oscar-nominees Woody Harrelson, Juliette Lewis and Robert Downey, Jr., Academy Award-winner Tommy Lee Jones lead an all-star cast in director Oliver Stone's gripping and satirical look at violence, murder and the American media, from a story by Oscar-winner Quentin Tarantino, as told through the eyes of two of the most terrifying, relentless, cold-blooded (and popular) mass murderers imaginable. Co-starring Golden Globe-nominee Tom Sizemore and comedian Rodney Dangerfield in a chillingly serious role, Time Magazine calls this film "explosive.... delirious, daredevil fun." Newsweek says its "flabbergasting, funny, enlightening, and brilliantly nightmarish," so it's little surprise that Stone received an Oscar nomination for his direction.
