1996 Volvo 850 R: Sleeper Estate
Hadrien Le Flanchec started collecting vintage watches when he was about 12 years old, during a time in his life when he would make many visits to small markets with his grandfather to look at chronographs and divers and tanks, and he remembers always being attracted to special dials and special cases like anyone else, but for him it was always about speaking softly and carrying a special movement on your wrist.
Watches are what drew Hadrien to cars, and his horological tastes have always manifested as very discreet watches that had special movements powering their timekeeping functions, so the decision to drive a factory hot-rodded Volvo station wagon should be no surprise, seeing as it very much follows that trajectory. Why the Volvo 850 is a BEAST of a winter beater. - (And a pretty epic daily driver)
This is my Volvo, there are many others like it, but this one is mine... I explain why I think the Volvo 850 (1992-1997) is a big, safe, comfy tank. And why it can be actually FUN to drive...

Why the Volvo 850 was the greatest car of the 90's
I'm using this video as a demo reel to prove that I am able to edit and write in a more "professional" manner than in the past.
It's worth watching all the way through, as the real fun I had editing didn't really start until about 10 minutes in. Except for the last 30 seconds or so. I'm sorry about those. This is also the first time I have ever spoken to a camera, so I understand that it's pretty awful. We can look past that for now.
If you guys think I'm worth hiring as an editor, say so in the comments! It'll help give me some clout for when I continue begging for jobs in the future!
I know this is a major step in a different direction than my videos have been in the past. Hopefully you can bear through my 16 minutes of rambling about what may be my favorite car from the 90's.

Here on TheTopher, I'm known for putting a camera on my face and driving cars. Whether it's about any of my personal cars or reviews on weekly press vehicles, the goal is to give you an idea of what a certain car is like to drive or live with. Most of my videos are filmed in POV, with my clothes on, and (for like the 5th time) with in-ear binaural audio. Which, if I haven't made it clear yet, is why you should wear headphones. Because of the whole "woah" factor. It's there, trust me. Try it, it's pretty nuts. Or don't. As long as you whitelist me on your adblocker I'm okay with whatever you do or don't do with regards to headphone usage. That is all. Oh and I guess you should also probably subscribe. Why are you still reading this, you should be watching the video. With headphones! Hah, had to sneak that in there one more time. Later!

Is it wise to come to me To guide you spiritually Dead eyes stare back from the void Reflecting what I see I am the key that locks the door The link between the worlds Take my hand Dare to walk with fire Let the dead rest in peace Step aside leave them be Let the dead rest in peace Sacrilege, final sleep I am here to satisfy Your curiosity If you think it's worth the risk To be stuck with me There are things you cannot see That's why you come to me Take my hand Dare to walk with fire Let the dead rest in peace Step aside leave them be Let the dead rest in peace Sacrilege, final sleep Was it wise to come to me To guide you spiritually Your dead eyes stare back from the void Now you're stuck with me Let the dead rest in peace Step aside leave them be Let the dead rest in peace Sacrilege, final sleep Let the dead rest in peace Step aside leave them be Let the dead rest in peace
