From the Inside is the eleventh studio album by Alice Cooper, released in 1978. It is a concept album about Cooper’s stay in a New Yorksanitarium due to his alcoholism. Each of the characters in the songs were based on actual people Cooper met in the sanitarium. With this album, he saw the addition of three former members of the Elton John band: lyricist Bernie Taupin, guitarist Davey Johnstone and bassist Dee Murray.
The lead single from the album was “How You Gonna See Me Now”, an early example of a power ballad, which reached #12 in the US' Hot 100 chart. A music video was also created for it. The ‘Madhouse Rocks Tour’ in support of From the Inside lasted from February to April 1979 and saw all songs from the album as regular parts of the setlist except “Millie and Billie”, “For Veronica’s Sake” and “Jackknife Johnny”. Since 1980, however, songs from From the Inside have rarely been performed live, with the only cases being “Serious” on the 2003 ‘Bare Bones’ tour, “Wish I Were Born in Beverly Hills” on the 2005-2006 Dirty Diamonds Tour, “Nurse Rozetta” on the ‘Descent into Dragontown’ and ‘Theatre of Death’ tours, and “From the Inside” between 1997 and 1999 and on the late 2000s ‘Theatre of Death’ tour.
Most of the album's twelve tracks fall in the pop genre, Two of the songs, "Love Comes From The Inside" and "I Do 2 Be" are outside pop. Two songs were first released in Italian and Spanish in former albums: It's Not Goodbye and Everyday Is A Monday. The latter was originally written in English and adapted later into Italian and Spanish, though it first released in these languages. Important songwriters appear in the credits of the album, such as Andreas Carlsson, K. C. Porter, but above all longtime Madonna's collaborator Patrick Leonard. The recording company (Atlantic Records) promoted the single Surrender more as a dance song (helped by the several remixes of the song) than a pop song. In this way, Surrender was able to reach No. 1 in the Billboard's Hot Dance Club Play. The same happened for the second single If that's love. In January 2003 the album was released in Europe as well.
In jazzimprovisation, outside playing, describes an approach where one plays over a scale, mode or chord that is harmonically distant from the given chord. There are several common techniques to playing outside, that include side-stepping or side-slipping, superimposition of Coltrane changes, and polytonality.
Side-slipping
The term side-slipping or side-stepping has been used to describe several similar yet distinct methods of playing outside. In one version, one plays only the five "'wrong'" non-scalenotes for the given chord and none of the seven scale or three to four chord tones, given that there are twelve notes in the equal tempered scale and heptatonic scales are generally used. Another technique described as sideslipping is the addition of distant ii-V relationships, such as a half-step above the original ii-V. This increases chromatic tension as it first moves away and then towards the tonic. Lastly, side-slipping can be described as playing in a scale a half-step above or below a given chord, before resolving, creating tension and release.
Voices is a 1995 album by Greek electronic composer and artist Vangelis.
Its music was used in the soundtrack for the 1998 documentary Deep Sea, Deep Secrets co-produced by The Learning Channel and Discovery Channel, together with music from Vangelis next album, Oceanic.
The track "Ask the Mountains" was also used as the music for the TV commercial for the Hotpoint/Ariston Aqualtis washing machine. Caroline Lavelle, who has worked and played with people like Peter Gabriel, Loreena McKennitt and Afro Celt Sound System as well as David Gilmour, sings and plays cello on the song "Come to me". Paul Young and Stina Nordenstam also collaborate on that album.
After her young son accidentally drowns, a woman has a breakdown and is finally placed in a mental hospital. After her release, her husband takes her for a weekend at a secluded country mansion, hoping to help her recover. However, things at the mansion aren't quite what they seem to be, the couple begin to feel an uneasy and oppressive presence, and the mother starts to see things that may, or may not, be hallucinations.

lyrics:
sometimes stay alone
dream like a child
of all the seasons
pictures and fantasies
moving on and on
in my mind
all the time
all the time
but the dreams are gone
then reality is near
I take your hands
feel your breath
and know that I
won't stay alone anymore
I take your hands
feel your breath

Lyrics
Sometimes stay alone
Dream like a child
Of all the seasons
Pictures and fantasies
Moving on and on in my mind
All the time, all the time
But the dreams are gone
Then reality is near
I take your hands, feel your breath
And know that I won't stay alone anymore
I take your hands, feel your breath
