🎤 Lyrics: Bryson Tiller - Exchange
[Verse 1]
This what happen when I think 'bout you
I get in my feelings, yeah
I start reminiscing, yeah
Next time around, f***, I want it to be different, yeah
Waiting on a sign, guess it's time for a different prayer
Lord, please save her for me, do this one favor for me
I had to change my player ways, got way too complicated for me
I hope she's waiting for me
Everywhere she go they playin' my song
That's why I say the things that I say
That way I know you can't ignore me
But so, so (Yeah)
[Chorus]
So give me all of you in exchange for me
Just give me all of you in exchange for me, for me
[Break 1]
Break it down, yeah
Yes sir
Check
[Verse 2]
We used to lay up and then stay up
Have sex and then blow dank
I shouldn't have played no games with you, just leveled-up my rank
Last time I saw you we ain't speak, that was strange
Guess it's nothing I can do, man, it's true, exes change, yeah
Ayy, guess you changed for the better (Better!)
I know you know how to make me jealous
I was never loyal, let you tell it, yo
But I'm ready to fix it if you ready, baby
But so, so (Yeah)
[Chorus]
So give me all of you in exchange for me
Just give me all of you in exchange for me, for me
[Break 2]
For real shawty
[Verse 3]
Yeah, is you at Two Keys or Tin Roof?
Turn up with young Tiller, we just gettin' loose
Maybe I'm lowkey feelin' you, don't be cynical
Won’t f*** you over, wanna f*** you over and again
The truth is I ain't really here to start problems
Girl, I swear to God them hoes can't never say they got him
Know how bad you wanna tell 'em, "don't try him"
I don't wanna tell 'em, let's surprise 'em
I don't wanna get into it – why you stressin' him? I've been drivin'
Back and forth, from Louisville to Lexington, mileage
On the whip, got your ass in my grip
College make you wanna strip for them dollars
Nah girl, I got a job for you, swear to God I can do a lot for you
Saw you strollin' through the campus, I had to stop for you
I was scrollin' through the 'gram, girl, I had to follow you
Say what's up with you?
You got my soul

Exchange Sacrifice | Chess Middlegames
Sacrificing the exchange is a very common way of obtaining a positional advantage or winning because of a deadly attack!
The exchange sacrifice is when someone gives up a rook for a knight or a bishop. While it does give up material, it’s not a real sacrifice because you don’t lose a piece, you simply trade off a more powerful piece (in theory) for a less powerful one.
Minor pieces are worth 3 points, rooks are worth 5. But this only applies if they are given scope. Each piece could be worth 0 or 9, depending on what it’s doing and how useful it is. A rook behind its pawns is useless, so is a bishop, or a knight on a8.
Thinking of pieces as if their value is fixed is wrong. A pawn on the 7th rank is worth more than 1 point, isn’t it?

Chess Strategy: The Exchange Technique
Get the complete course "Exchange Pieces like a Pro" - https://goo.gl/pRuvUM
The strategy of exchanges (or the exchange technique) in chess is very often underestimated by the young/inexperienced players. Of course, everybody likes to sacrifice, to play attacking and combinative chess, but we don’t always get such positions. That’s why it’s important to have almost all kind of weapons in our arsenal.
To better understand the concept of the piece exchange technique in chess, let’s say there are two pieces of equal value (say two bishops or two rooks), but it DOESN’T necessarily mean that they are actually ‘EQUAL’. What do I mean by this? Let me give an example.
Let’s say you have a knight that’s attacking your opponent’s pawn, and he protects that pawn with his knight. Even though you b...

Do you want daily training exercises? Visit my Patreon page: https://www.patreon.com/hangingpawns
The Exchange French is considered to be one of the dullest openings, but it could lead to very interesting attacking positions if you decide to deviate from the main lines.
Watch this video for an introduction to the French Defense, basics, opening principles and main variations: https://youtu.be/pig559oP5OM
French Defense C01 – Exchange Variation
The variation starts after the opening moves:
1.e4 e6 (the French Defense)
2.d4 d5
3.exd5 (entering the Exchange Variation) …exd5
If neither side decides to deviate from the main, most solid and precise opening plans the position is likely to end in a draw, which is why the Exchange French is “frowned upon” by many. The reason for this is a s...

When to Exchange Pieces? | Chess Strategy
♞ Chess Course "Exchange Pieces like a Pro" by IM Asaf Givon - https://goo.gl/pRuvUM
Which pieces to keep and which to exchange is one of the most important questions in chess. Less experienced players often think exchanging means to swap pieces of equal value and fail to take strategic factors into account. Of course, you have to keep the material balance in mind but it is crucial to realize how exchanges affect the position.
In the course "Exchange Pieces like a Pro", IM Asaf explains how to make decisions in exchanging the pieces, how to isolate the opponent’s bad pieces and how to create weaknesses - https://goo.gl/pRuvUM

In this video lesson, IM Asaf Givon analyses a thematic chess game on one of the most important themes - Piece Exchanges. He will teac...

Thinking of pieces as if their value is fixed is wrong. A pawn on the 7th rank is worth more than 1 point, isn’t it?
That is why the exchange sacrifice is a viable pattern. If the rook was absolutely worth more than knights or bishops, the player who sacrifices would always lose!
Garry Kasparov developed a concept of material vs quality vs time, in which all three aspects are valuable and one can be substituted for another in order to improve your position. The exchange sacrifice can be looked through it as well. If you gain valuable time or improve your pieces while giving up material, then it’s a good trade.
Rooks are often stuck on their original squares (especially the queenside rook) for a long time. Imagine trading off your a8 rook for your opponent’s f6 knight on move 3. Wouldn’t that be great? Well, that example is extreme, but if you have such ideas in mind, the opportunity for beautiful exchange sacrifices will arise!

Trading pieces during a chess game is absolutely normal and cannot be avoided. However, many players often ask themselves if the trades or exchanges they did are the right decision. Also, when is the ideal time to exchange pieces or pawns? In this series, we want to help you to answer this question yourself by teaching you exchange guidelines that help you to take the right decision. You will learn that every exchange, doesn’t matter if it is a pawn or piece exchange, can be seen as a strategic decision, which shall bring you in an advantageous position.
In this video, GM Markus Ragger will show you how to evaluate a piece exchange and when you should go for it.
There are two ways how to approach a piece exchange:
1. Compare the pieces that are about to be exchanged with each other: We compare the pieces that are about to be exchanged with each other. Ask yourself: What is the best piece of your opponent? Try to exchange the strongest piece of your opponent.
2. Evaluating the resulting position: We don’t look at the pieces that are about to be exchanged but we are just focussing on the resulting position. Try to evaluate the resulting position. This makes a lot of sense when we exchange pieces with different strength, for example if we exchange a knight with a bishop or when we exchanging an attacking piece with a defending piece.

Most beginners have problems improving at chess because they simply lack the foundation needed to build upon. They have bits and pieces of knowledge, but that’s not enough to see sustainable progress. Those beginners tend to study wrong things, in the wrong way. They are spending countless hours on openings and tactics, while what they really need is getting the fundamentals straight.
That's where IM Valeri Lilov comes in with his Comprehensive Beginners course, and in this free preview, Valeri will show you how to decide whether to exchange a piece for another.
The art of simplification over the chess board is an aspect of the game that every player should learn if they want to improve their chess and reach higher levels. You'll need to knowing which pieces of your opponent you need to trade and when is the best moment to do so. At the same time, you need to know which of your own pieces you should strive to keep on the board, and which pieces you can afford to swap off.
There's more to exchanging chess pieces than simply their material value. For example, a bishop and a knight are roughly valued as equal, but if the position is open, a bishop can dominate a knight! Likewise, if the position is closed, a bishop isn't very effective while a knight comes into its own.
When the game is in the early stages, a knight is more valuable because it can jump over other pieces. But as the game progresses, the bishop becomes the more valuable piece becayse it can cover and control many squares on the board. Likewise, a rook is not as valuable in the early stages of the game but can be deadly as the game progresses and lines get opened up. It is important to remember that a piece’s importance fluctuates during the game.

Even though you both have knights, that are equal in material (3 points), it doesn’t actually mean they are equal, positionally.
Because you have a knight that ATTACKS, whereas your opponent’s knight DEFENDS. An attacking /active piece is always better (or has better prospects) than its corresponding defending/passive piece.
In this video GM Levan Aroshidze will teach when you to accept an exchange of pieces offer (or when to offer an exchange) and when not to exchange and keep your active piece in the game.

The reason for this is a symmetrical pawn structure and a similar attacking plan for both players. There are, however, interesting deviations for white and for black which could lead to volatile, double-edged positions. The variation can continue in several ways:
4.Nf3 This is the main line. White is going for a normal development plan of Nf3, c3, Qc2, Bd3, Be3 (or f4, g5) and castles short, preparing to put pressure on the h7 pawn and black’s king position. Black is most likely going to play symmetrically with Nf6, or he can continue with 4...Nc6, which can lead to far more interesting lines with opposite side castling.
There are three sidelines white could choose on move 4. Each is less precise than Nf3, but they can all be used as a surprise weapon against an opponent who will most likely expect the main line.
4.Bd3 Bd6
5.Nf3
5.Ne2
4.c4 (Monte Carlo Variation)
4.Nc3

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
In this video lesson, IM Asaf Givon analyses a thematic chess game on one of the most important themes - Piece Exchanges. He will teach when to exchange pieces, when to not exchange pieces, what are the things you should consider before making a decision about an exchange.
When your opponent is offering an exchange, you have the following options:
1. Exchange the pieces right away (accepting)
2. Exchange the pieces in YOUR own terms
3. Decline the exchange offer (by blockading or retreating your piece)
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
CONCLUSIONS
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
⭐ When you have more space (advantage) on the board, strive to not exchange your pieces.
⭐ If you are forced to exchange pieces, try to do it on your own terms. Many times, it will require more patience - try to lure your opponent into an exchange that favors you (it could be opening a file or improving any of your pieces).
⭐ Always try to exchange your opponent's active pieces (if possible, with your passive/bad ones), especially if he has only one active piece, and leave him with only passive pieces.
