Somatosensory system
The somatosensory system, also known as somatic senses, touch or tactile perception, is a complex sensory system. It is considered one of the five traditional senses. It is made up of a number of different receptors, including thermoreceptors, photoreceptors, mechanoreceptors and chemoreceptors. It also comprises essential processing centres, or sensory modalities, such as proprioception, mechanoreception (touch), thermoception (temperature), and nociception (pain). The sensory receptors cover the skin and epithelial tissues, skeletal muscles, bones and joints, internal organs, and the cardiovascular system.
Somatic senses are sometimes referred to as somesthetic senses, with the understanding that somesthesis includes touch, proprioception and (depending on usage) also haptic perception.
Processing primarily occurs in the primary somatosensory area in the parietal lobe of the cerebral cortex: information is sent from the receptors via sensory nerves, through tracts in the spinal cord and finally into the brain.

Klinik
Klinik, (sometimes called The Klinik), is an industrial music band from Belgium, originally formed around 1982 by electro-synthpop practitioner Marc Verhaeghen, who is the only constant member.
History
Marc Verhaeghen originally formed Klinik in the early-to-mid 1980s; the exact date varies depending on the source. The group is normally described as one of the most influential Belgian industrial bands in history.
In 1985, Verhaeghen joined forces with two other bands, Absolute Body Control (with Dirk Ivens and Eric van Wonterghem), and "The Maniacs" (Sandy Nys) to form one "super group" "Absolute Controlled Clinical Maniacs". This rather unwieldy name was soon dropped in favour of the shorter name "The Klinik". Nys soon left the band to form "Hybryds", followed in 1987 by van Wonterghem, leaving The Klinik as the "classic" duo of Dirk Ivens and Marc Verhaeghen.
The Klinik soon made a name for themselves with their cold and harsh EBM sound and their live shows, where both Ivens and Verhaeghen performed with their heads wrapped in gauze, wearing long black leather coats. Ivens' hissing vocals and minimalist lyrics were complemented by Verhaeghen's synthesizer skills and distorted trombone playing. This however, did not last forever; after Time, an album neither member was fully pleased with, musical differences became too great, and they decided to go their separate ways. In a 2013 interview, Ivens said the due were moving in different directions musically, and that compromise between only two members was challenging.

Touch (Miss A album)
Touch is the first mini album by South Korean-Chinese girl group Miss A. It was released on February 20, 2012. The album contains six new tracks. The song Touch served as its lead single.
Only track no.1: Touch and track no.5: Over U were later added on Miss A's second album Hush
Background
Miss A announced their comeback in Korea with a new mini-album called "Touch", that is confirmed to be released on February 20, 2012. On February 19, 2012, the music video was uploaded to YouTube through Miss A's official channel and gained over one million views in two days.
Release and promotion
The full mini-album was released on February 20, 2012. Promotions for "Touch" began on February 23, 2012, on M! Countdown. They ended their promotions by performing the second single "Over U" during their last week leading towards April 1, 2012.

Twilight (Electric Light Orchestra song)
"Twilight" is a song by Electric Light Orchestra (ELO), originally released on their 1981 album Time. It was the second single released from the album.
The song was used (without authorisation) as the theme music for the opening animation to the 1983 Daicon IV science fiction convention in Osaka. In 2005, as an homage to the Daicon IV animation, the song was used as the opening theme of the television series Densha Otoko, which features an otaku as the main character. As a similar homage, it has served as the opening song for Otakon's AMV contest since 2008. It also appeared, with authorisation and credit, in a 1982 advertisement for the Toyota Celica XX.
It was used as the finale song in the 2009-2010 Burton Snowboards film The B Movie, featuring most of the Burton team snowboarding on a "B" built out of snow.
Indian actor and producer Shahrukh Khan covered this song in British and American version of the television series Galaxy World of Alisa, the ending theme of few episode.

Polumgla
Polumgla, also known as Twilight, is a 2005 Russian film, directed by Artem Antonov, in his directorial debut, at the age of 26. The film was written by Igor Bolgarin and Viktor Smirnov, and stars Yuri Tarasov, Sergey Gryaznov and Anastasiya Sheveleva.
Synopsis
The film concerns the relationship between German prisoners of war and local women in the remote Soviet village of Polumgla, located in Archangel province. In the winter of 1944 in Polumgla, the locals consist almost entirely of women, since most of the men have been mobilised to military service.
The film focuses on the circumstances of a young Lieutenant in the Russian army, Grigori Anokhin, played by Yuri Tarasov, who is stuck in a sanatorium but eager to return to the front in order “to kill the fascists”, as he says. Traumatized by witnessing the massacre of his comrades, he has taken to drink and he is ready to exact revenge. His attempts to return to the front, however, are frustrated, when he is assigned a different mission. With a team of soldiers unfit for duty at the front, he is ordered to take a group of fifteen German prisoners and their commanding officer to the remote village of Polumgla, to construct a radio tower for use as an airplane beacon.

Welcome to 2 minute neuroscience, where I simplistically explain neuroscience topics in 2 minutes or less. In this installment I will discuss the primary somatosensory cortex.
The primary somatosensory cortex is located in a ridge of cortex called the postcentral gyrus. It is situated just posterior to the central sulcus, a prominent fissure that runs down the side of the cerebral cortex.
The primary somatosensory cortex is responsible for processing somatic sensations, or sensations from the body that include touch, proprioception or the position of the body in space, nociception or pain, and temperature. When receptors detect one of these sensations, the information is sent to the thalamus and then to the primary somatosensory cortex.
The primary somatosensory cortex is typically divided into 4 areas: area 3a, 3b, 1, and 2. Area 3 receives the majority of somatosensory input directly from the thalamus, and the initial processing of information occurs here. Area 3b is primarily concerned with basic processing of touch sensations, while area 3a responds to information from proprioceptors. Area 3b is densely connected to areas 1 and 2, and when area 3b receives touch information, that information is then sent to areas 1 and 2 for more complex processing. Area 2 is also involved with proprioception.
Each of the four areas of the primary somatosensory cortex is arranged such that a particular location in that area receives information from a particular part of the body. This arrangement is referred to as somatotopic, and the full body is represented in this way in each of the four regions of the somatosensory cortex. More sensitive areas of the body take up a disproportionate amount of space in this somatotopic arrangement.

How does Klinik work?
Klinik exists to support GP practices in improving patient access, appointment demand management and to support the practice team with interpreting the data from the triage. Klinik works in a similar way to other triage products BUT we differ because our patient triage tool uses AI to support clinicians to optimise their workflow and patients' experience of care. The technology helps streamline patient enquiries into a single integrated system, prioritising these in order of urgency, and providing differential diagnosis. This helps practices to see the right patient at the right time and ensures that anyone that doesn't need to see the GP is triaged to the right place. The technology also provides real-time data on patient queries by time, frequency and condition.

This is a fan-made album comprised of 'unreleased' / 'missing' / 'given away' songs from Paul McCartney's solo career, mushed together into something that is supposed to sound like a somewhat cohesive album. Obviously, with the songs being bootlegs and all, the sound isn't as polished as we'd all like. But I think the strengths of each song shine through regardless. 'Yvonne's the One' sounds especially crispy. And by the way, there are other unreleased PM songs I could have included, but 'McCartney Is Missing' is really meant to highlight the stuff I think works best in a single album context.
For reference, I have made some minor adjustments to the songs to suit, erm, my preferences. Only for the sake of the album feel and flow, though. These include:
• Raised the highs a bit across the board to reduce muddy sound
• Added a slight delay sound at the end of 'Cage (Emotional Moments)' for a fairly smooth transition into 'Don't Break the Promise'
• Added a fadeout to 'Don't Break the Promise'
• Cut 'Lindiana' by a minute and a half or so (IMO, the original just drags on)
ALSO: 'Don't Break the Promise' did technically officially release on CD in 1997 as part of an EP for 'The World Tonight' -- however, from what I can see, it's not easily accessible via streaming services, so I reckon that makes it viable for inclusion here. Also, it's a bloody great and lesser known little banger, so why not eh?

The primary somatosensory cortex is responsible for processing somatic sensations, or sensations from the body that include touch, proprioception (i.e. the position of the body in space), nociception (i.e. pain), and temperature. The primary somatosensory cortex is generally divided into 4 areas: area 3a, 3b, 1, and 2. In the video, I discuss the relative functions of each of these areas.

TRANSCRIPT:
Welcome to 2 minute neuroscience, where I simplistically explain neuroscience topics in 2 minutes or less. In this installment I will discuss the primary somatosensory cortex.
The primary somatosensory cortex is located in a ridge of cortex called the postcentral gyrus. It is situated just posterior to the central sulcus, a prominent fissure that runs down the side of the cerebral cortex.
The primary somatosensory cortex is responsible for processing somatic sensations, or sensations from the body that include touch, proprioception or the position of the body in space, nociception or pain, and temperature. When receptors detect one of these sensations, the information is sent to the thalamus and then to the primary somatosensory cortex.
The primary somatosensory cortex is typically divided into 4 areas: area 3a, 3b, 1, and 2. Area 3 receives the majority of somatosensory input directly from the thalamus, and the initial processing of information occurs here. Area 3b is primarily concerned with basic processing of touch sensations, while area 3a responds to information from proprioceptors. Area 3b is densely connected to areas 1 and 2, and when area 3b receives touch information, that information is then sent to areas 1 and 2 for more complex processing. Area 2 is also involved with proprioception.
Each of the four areas of the primary somatosensory cortex is arranged such that a particular location in that area receives information from a particular part of the body. This arrangement is referred to as somatotopic, and the full body is represented in this way in each of the four regions of the somatosensory cortex. More sensitive areas of the body take up a disproportionate amount of space in this somatotopic arrangement.

Somatosensory system
The somatosensory system, also known as somatic senses, touch or tactile perception, is a complex sensory system. It is considered one of the five traditional senses. It is made up of a number of different receptors, including thermoreceptors, photoreceptors, mechanoreceptors and chemoreceptors. It also comprises essential processing centres, or sensory modalities, such as proprioception, mechanoreception (touch), thermoception (temperature), and nociception (pain). The sensory receptors cover the skin and epithelial tissues, skeletal muscles, bones and joints, internal organs, and the cardiovascular system.
Somatic senses are sometimes referred to as somesthetic senses, with the understanding that somesthesis includes touch, proprioception and (depending on usage) also haptic perception.
Processing primarily occurs in the primary somatosensory area in the parietal lobe of the cerebral cortex: information is sent from the receptors via sensory nerves, through tracts in the spinal cord and finally into the brain.

Klinik works in a similar way to other triage products BUT we differ because our patient triage tool uses AI to support clinicians to optimise their workflow and patients' experience of care. The technology helps streamline patient enquiries into a single integrated system, prioritising these in order of urgency, and providing differential diagnosis. This is a fan-made album comprised of 'unreleased' / 'missing' / 'given away' songs from Paul McCartney's solo career, mushed together into something that is supposed to sound like a somewhat cohesive album. Obviously, with the songs being bootlegs and all, the sound isn't as polished as we'd all like. But I think the strengths of each song shine through regardless. 'Yvonne's the One' sounds especially crispy. And by the way, there are other unreleased PM songs I could have included, but 'McCartney Is Missing' is really meant to highlight the stuff I think works best in a single album context.
For reference, I have made some minor adjustments to the songs to suit, erm, my preferences. Only for the sake of the album feel and flow, though. These include:
• Raised the highs a bit across the board to reduce muddy sound
• Added a slight delay sound at the end of 'Cage (Emotional Moments)' for a fairly smooth transition into 'Don't Break the Promise'
• Added a fadeout to 'Don't Break the Promise'
• Cut 'Lindiana' by a minute and a half or so (IMO, the original just drags on)
ALSO: 'Don't Break the Promise' did technically officially release on CD in 1997 as part of an EP for 'The World Tonight' -- however, from what I can see, it's not easily accessible via streaming services, so I reckon that makes it viable for inclusion here. Also, it's a bloody great and lesser known little banger, so why not eh?
