Henry Jackson Thomas, Jr. (born September 9, 1971) is an American actor and musician. He has appeared in over 40 films and is best known for his role as Elliott Taylor in Steven Spielberg's E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982). He is also known for his roles in films such as Cloak & Dagger (1984), Legends of the Fall (1994), and Gangs of New York (2002). Among Star Wars fans, he is well known as the narrator of three Star Wars: X-Wing books: Rogue Squadron, Wedge's Gamble, and The Krytos Trap.
Thomas was born an only child in San Antonio, Texas, the son of Carolyn L. (née Davis), a homemaker, and Henry Jackson Thomas, a hydraulic machinist. He attended East Central High School in San Antonio and Blinn College in Brenham. Thomas is of Welsh descent.
Aged nine, Thomas had already been in one film, Raggedy Man, when he auditioned for E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. He won the part by giving a genuinely tearful performance, during which he had drawn upon the trauma of having seen his pet dog being killed by a neighbor’s dog. The film’s success exceeded expectations, and Thomas was troubled by the sometimes extreme reaction of the public.
Thomas Henry (born Thomas Henry Fisher) (1879–1962) was an English illustrator, best remembered for his illustrations of Richmal Crompton's William books.
Thomas Henry Fisher was born in 1879 at Eastwood, Nottinghamshire. The oldest of 3 brothers, he became an apprentice to T. Bailey Forman (Nottingham newspaper proprietors and printers) at the young age of fourteen. Numerous paintings and sketches he made outside contract were used by his employers for publishing merchandise like wall calendars. He parallelly attended the Nottingham School of Art.
His first published works are probably cartoons for the Nottingham Football Post, in September, 1904. He parallelly freelanced under the name of Thomas Henry. Pastel and watercolour were his chosen mediums at that time.
Thomas Henry was associated with the advertising division of Nottingham-based cigarette firm John Players and was reputed to have assisted in the updating of the famous sailor's head, found on the Navy Cut cigarette packet.
Thomas Henry (born 20 September 1994) is a French footballer who plays for French club Nantes in Ligue 1. He plays as a striker.
Henry joined Nantes in 2015 from Fréjus Saint-Raphaël. He made his Ligue 1 debut on 12 December 2015 against Toulouse FC in 1-1 draw. He replaced Alejandro Bedoya after 72 minutes.
Henry Foster may refer to:
Henry Knollys "Harry" Foster MBE, (30 October 1873 at Malvern, Worcestershire – 23 June 1950 at Kingsthorne, Herefordshire), was a cricketer who played for Oxford University and Worcestershire. He first played for Worcestershire in 1888 at the age of only 14 years old.
The oldest of seven brothers who played cricket for Worcestershire, Harry Foster was a forceful right-handed middle-order batsman who acted as captain at Worcestershire for 11 of the first 12 season in which the county competed in the County Championship. He was also for many of those seasons second only to his brother R.E. "Tip" Foster as the county's leading batsman.
Foster first played first-class cricket at Oxford. Not picked for any matches at all in 1893, he won a Blue against Cambridge in each of the next three seasons. In the Varsity match of 1895, he scored 121 in two hours as Oxford, set a target of 331 to win, reached just 196 all out.
Foster captained Worcestershire in the county's very first Championship match in 1899 and led the side every season until 1910, except for 1901. He scored 1,000 runs in a season eight times, and five times averaged more than 40 runs per innings. Among his 29 first-class centuries, he hit 216 against Somerset in 1903 — the first double hundred for Worcestershire in first-class cricket—and 215 against Warwickshire in 1908, both at Worcester.
Henry Foster (1796 – 5 February 1831) was a British naval officer and scientist who took part in expeditions to both the Arctic and Antarctic, and made various notable scientific observations. He was a Fellow of the Royal Society.
In his early career, Foster served aboard HMS York. Later, he served aboard HMS Griper in 1823 as part of the British Naval Scientific Expedition to the Arctic led by Douglas Clavering. He assisted the astronomer Edward Sabine. He became a Fellow of the Royal Society.
In 1824 as a lieutenant, he joined the Northwest Passage expedition led by Captain William Edward Parry, aboard HMS Hecla. He made various scientific observations in magnetism and astronomy and pendulum measurements of gravity, for which he shared the Copley Medal in 1827 and received the rank of commander. Later in 1827 he joined the British Naval North Polar Expedition, again under the leadership of Parry.
From 1828 to 1831, he was commander of HMS Chanticleer and led the British Naval Expedition to the South Atlantic, surveying the South Shetland Islands and notably Deception Island off the Antarctic Peninsula. The expedition was to survey the coasts and land formations, as well as to determine the direction of ocean currents in both hemispheres. He named the Wollaston Islands of present-day Chile, in the Tierra del Fuego archipelago, after the British chemist William Hyde Wollaston. As well as surveying coasts and ocean currents, Foster used a Kater invariable pendulum to make observations on gravity. The survey included the archipelago and island of Fernando de Noronha. Foster was given considerable assistance by the Governor, who let Foster use part of his own house for the pendulum experiments. He published his research in an 1834 book, released posthumously.
Thomas Henry Skeffington, 2nd Viscount Ferrard (January 1772 – 18 January 1843), styled The Honourable from 1790 until 1821, was an Irish peer and politician
Born Thomas Henry Foster, he was the son of John Foster, 1st Baron Oriel, the last Speaker of the Irish House of Commons, and Margaretta Amelia Burgh, 1st Viscountess Ferrard.
He entered the Irish House of Commons for Dunleer in 1793, representing it until the Act of Union in 1801. Ferrard sat as Member of Parliament in the British House of Commons for Drogheda between 1807 to 1812 and for County Louth between 1821 to 1824. In 1811 he was appointed High Sheriff of Louth and in 1818, appointed High Sheriff of Antrim. He succeeded his mother as second Viscount Ferrard in 1824. However, as this was an Irish peerage it did not entitle him to a seat in the House of Lords. In 1828 he succeeded his father in the barony of Oriel, which was in the Peerage of the United Kingdom, and was able to take a seat in the upper chamber of Parliament.

Fishin' Blues_No Copyright Infringement Intended Henry Thomas (1874-1950s?[1]) was an American pre-World War II country blues singer, songster and musician. He was often billed as "Ragtime Texas". Thomas was born in Big Sandy, Texas. He began his musical career as an itinerant songster and recorded twenty-three sides for Vocalion Records between 1927 and 1929. Thomas accompanied himself on guitar and on quills, a folk instrument fabricated from cane reeds, and would play both instruments and provide vocals for the same song. The instrument is similar in sound to the zampona, used by musicians in Peru and Bolivia. His springy guitar-playing, probably inspired by banjo-picking styles, implies that he was used to performing for dances.[2] His legacy has been sustained by his songs which were...
